It’s Time to Get Real

When most fans think of idol content, they likely think of music, music videos, performances, and even reality shows. But how many fans think of podcasts? This month, we’re diving into the podcast Get Real, a podcast from DIVE Studios where idols talk about different things in their lives such as friendships in adulthood, relationships, life as an idol, and more!

Get Real started back in 2020, hosted by Ashley from LADIES’ CODE, Peniel from BTOB, and BM from KARD. The very first episode, the trio discussed living in dorms, moving to Korea, and crazy landlord stories. The three hosts are so funny and entertaining together, making this podcast a great listen. This podcast has three seasons so far and has featured many guests, as well as added hosts when BM left after he started a busier schedule. Ashley and Peniel have remained with the show for all three seasons so far, while Season Two also included rapper pH-1, and later soloist JUNNY came along and became the third host for the third season. The chemistry still continued among the hosts, and it’s evident with how they joke with each other and make the podcast fun.

This podcast is absolutely worth a listen not only because it’s extra content fans can get of their favorite idols, but because it’s actually a great way to get advice and hear about relatable issues in our own lives. It’s certainly helpful (and obviously entertaining) for 20-something adults because the hosts are around our age and went through or are going through similar experiences. It can be almost a relief to hear idols talk about things we go through as well, because it’s a gentle reminder that idols are human too and have their own worries, feelings, and lives in general. The hosts also read comments and stories that fans send in for advice and give their own input, which makes it more personal.

Get Real recently wrapped up their third season, and we’re hoping it will return for a fourth! You can listen to the podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or even watch the video of the show on DIVE Studio’s Youtube channel.
