Throwback Thursday: Energetic Beat Drops Part 2

Hello and welcome back to energetic beat drops. In part one, I talked about how I had to break this into two pieces because there are so many tracks that could be named. As in part one, many of the songs in this list are by groups we know and love. So, let's not waste any more time and take it back and dance to these energetic beat drops.

“BEASTMODE” - MONSTA X

As a MONBEBE, it was so hard to pick one song from their jam-packed discography, but there is something about “BEASTMODE” that made it so there was no way I could make this list and not add it. The beat drop alone in this song would excite any listener. It’s super hard-hitting and shakes your core. “BEASTMODE” is a B-side off of their iconic album Fatal Love which was released on November 2, 2020. Seeing this song in person changed my life. I have never screamed so loud, and I believe everyone should see it in person.

“Numb” - CIX

“I’m going numb.” This is another song where seeing it live made my day, and I haven’t been the same since. I find myself just going back and rewatching the concert video all the time. The moment any listener hears that soda can open, you can’t help but get so excited. The best drop for “Numb” occurs in the chorus. While this song’s beat is hard-hitting, the vocals in this track are mesmerizing. It's such a fun dance track that will always remain top-tier.

“Villain” - AleXa

We all know about AleXa and her bubbly personality, but let's talk about how her music is out of this world. Her single “Villain” was released on July 16, 2020, and I have been streaming it ever since. The song starts instantly with a mighty beat drop which was new to me. We are all so used to a song starting with a build-up, but in “Villain” it starts automatically. It’s such a great track that I would love to hear it live.

“UGH!” - BTS

Just thinking about this song gets me and many listeners super excited. There's no way I can listen to this song and get work done—I just have to dance. “UGH!” is a B-side song from their album Map of the Soul: 7 and it's one of my favorites of the album. “UGH!” is an energetic, forceful track that gets everyone on their feet. In addition, members SUGA, RM, and j-hope all wrote lyrics for this track, which is the perfect icing on the cake.

“COME BACK HOME” - 2NE1

“Come back home. Can you come back home, eh.” Oh, how I miss 2NE1. Their music will always remain iconic no matter the time. “COME BACK HOME” was released on February 27, 2014, and showed how talented 2NE1 is. This powerful track starts off simmering, with a reggae-inspired backing track that makes you move along instantly. The build happens and then we are hit with an electro-pop chorus that keeps you at the edge of your seat. Overall, it's an entertaining song that will have any listener hooked.
