“I don’t care if my not so beautiful inner self is revealed.” EVNNE, who debuted last September with the ambition to “Make me a target the public wants,” is continuing their aim. The group's intention to shake up the world with “TROUBLE” comes back in force and shook up EVNNE during the teaser.
But where is Keita? Throughout the entire 30 second teaser for “UGLY,” Keita doesn’t appear, and his absence didn’t go unnoticed by ENNVE. Rest assured, Keita is very present in this second album which highlights his active participation and contribution to the composition of several titles. In fact, we can notice that “SYRUP” was written by Keita in collaboration with Ji Younseo and Lee Junghyun. Keita also helped compose the lyrics for “Chase” with Yoo Seungeon, and to finish, he participated in the writing and composition of the last track “Festa.”
“We expressed another rascal-like side with newly upgraded energy and this time, I participated in both composing and writing lyrics, so I think it became a more meaningful album to me.” - Keita, Member of EVNNE.
The latest music video teaser titled “You’ve waited a long time. We will serve you properly” definitely brings back the enthusiasm of fans by offering more personal content of the members. EVNNE expresses themselves and reveals personal moments with a friendly and sparkling energy: a way of being seen far from the spotlight, in a more intimate atmosphere.
The official music video for “UGLY” premiered on the day of the album’s release and surpassed 500,000 views on YouTube within hours of its release. Over a frenzied and fast sound, the seven boys dressed in black leather offer an intense vocal and choreographic prowess. “It's a performance-oriented song, so it's physically exhausting, but this time I put a lot of effort into my core to find the balance. I'm new to dancing. There was a lot of choreography that was difficult to master [...]” Park Hanbin.
“UGLY” is a strong Tech House song, with a Hip-Hop beat and groovy R&B intonations. The drop accentuates the action of the choreography and the chorus allows them to reveal their dancing talent. The clip also has punchy animation featuring EVNNE as “rowdy RASCALS” with a bad boy style that is both mischievous and seductive. With graffiti on their faces, they assert themselves with confidence to save the world.
