I.M’s First Release of The Year, “Slowly (Feat. HEIZE)”
“Slowly,” their first collaboration since I.M’s feature on HEIZE’s album Undo, showcases the pair's compatibility as K-R&B artists.
The song itself is about a relationship that has run its course and should be cut off. In I.M’s lines, he expresses a desire to get out of the mundane relationship, even though it will still hurt to end it. HEIZE’s voice compliments I.M’s well, as she sings about going separate ways and letting time heal the wounds of the relationship. The song was written by HEIZE and I.M and composed alongside WOOKI.
The video takes place outside on a snowy day in the city. I.M is walking around alone in the snow, but doesn’t seem to be going anywhere in particular. Once HEIZE starts singing, the video transitions to night-time and I.M continues to walk around as it is snowing. The cold color palette of the video melts into the song and adds to the relaxing aura.
Although he is the lead rapper of MONSTA X, I.M often shows off his vocals in relaxing R&B tracks much like “Slowly”. I.M has received a lot of praise for his vocals in the comments of the video. Many fans have shared that they are proud of his abilities, and give thanks to him for gifting them a song filled with his soothing and warm vocals in this cold winter month.
