PRIMROSE Returns to “Steal Heart”

Five months after their latest comeback, PRIMROSE has returned with their third mini-album Steal Heart and title track of the same name. Just two months away from their two year debut, the girls are back with a brand new concept that presents a new facet to the group.

The teaser images for “Steal Heart” portrayed a more bad girl image, especially the teasers showing the girls taking mugshots. While it does fit the concept of “Steal Heart,” I personally was hoping for a harder title track after the symphonic inspired “Freyja.” “Steal Heart” is a classic pop track that reminds me a lot of the early 2000s, or Britney Spears peak era. A lot of the background musical elements really showcase that musical aesthetic. For those that enjoy nostalgia, it’ll certainly be a fun listen.

The concept for “Steal Heart” was very fun, especially with the outfits. We love a good dark aesthetic around here, and the black and white striped outfits to portray jail attire was a cute addition. Red is the most prominent color in the palette of the video, and there are a couple of scenes that are surprisingly dark given the more lighthearted tone of the song.
