FALLIN’ into Fall with HEIZE

Some things are just meant to go together: peanut butter and jelly, salt and pepper, and autumn and HEIZE.

The soloist is back with her latest release under P NATION, FALLIN’ and her new title track of the same name. “FALLIN,’” written in part by B.I, is an acoustic, almost folksy, ode to the past and the bits of life that have faded along with time. While the songstress is known for her soft and soulful delivery, the track has noticeably even less of an electric flair than HEIZE’s usual titles, showing a new side to the singer. It’s one that matches her voice well.

The album follows much the same. Soft rock ballad “It was all you” sees her crooning against an easy guitar while “Broken diary” has her singing alongside a classic jazz quartet. “Behind the heart” has an almost magical feel to it, made all the more whimsical by its 6/8 time signature. “Dot” balances playful instrumental touches with its overall melancholy feel. The acoustic touch comes back with “Without you,” with HEIZE’s swelling vocals laid overtop a light electronic beat. “November song” closes out the album in typical HEIZE outro fashion, with a sorrowful instrumental track comprised of piano, cello, violin, and a percussive beat that drifts off into somber silence.
