We’ve been waiting for a new release from ONEUS for a number of months, and this time it comes in the form of a warm holiday-themed digital single “루퍼트의 눈물 (Rupert's drop).” This cozy single is perfect for the holiday season, without all of the campy cliches that can come along with it.

“루퍼트의 눈물 (Rupert's drop)” is an upbeat pop ballad with a soft acoustic melody that highlights the vocal prowess of the group. While Seoho and Keonhee still take the spotlight for vocals, it’s rather surprising to see rapper Leedo hold his own in the vocal department, especially since his singing range is much higher than his natural lower register voice when he raps. The song is moving as a vocally focused only track, and has a very light touch of holiday feel to it rather than being in your face about it, which makes it feel a bit more unique. The build-up into the key change for the final chorus has a strong emotional impact and is quite a nice musical composition.

The video is rather simple, as there isn’t any choreography or story being told, and rather a focus on the members’ visuals. The holiday feel is highlighted by falling snow in their sets and cozy sweater attire in light pinks and blues. What is particularly striking is the makeup method used on them, heavy on pink blush in the close-ups of their sweater set. They also have two different sets of outfits, all seen in the release teasers. There’s not much to say about the video since it is pretty basic, but if strong visuals are your thing you’re going to love it.
