Popular K-Pop Music Video Locations
Here are some K-Pop videos that were filmed on similar sets.
Carousel
Yongma Land is an abandoned amusement park that has become a popular set with its carousel often used as a backdrop. It closed in 2011 after losing popularity following the opening of competitor Lotte World.
TWICE’s zombie-infested “Like OOH-AHH” features this carousel in the end of their video.
Dreamcatcher’s “BEcause” was also filmed at Yongma Land, but unlike other videos filmed in the park, the carousel isn’t focused on much.
On the other hand, TXT (Tomorrow x Together)’s carousel in “Blue Hour” was a part of a set created for the music video. The carousel is one of the main settings in the video with it being both on the ground and in the sky.
Helicopter Landing Pads
MONSTA X’s “HERO” was the groups first music video to reach 100 million views and is still their most viewed music video to this day. With the drone shots, we get a nice view of the city and river from the helicopter pad. The video ends at night with a beautiful shot of the light filled city.
A portion of the choreography scenes in “You Are” by GOT7 was filmed on a helicopter pad in Hong Kong with the sun setting behind the members.
“DARLING” by Taeyang also features a helicopter pad, with my scenes that were shot using a drone.
Empty Pool
Much of BTS’s iconic “FIRE” music video takes place in an empty indoor pool.
Many empty pools used for filming are abandoned; their worn out look fits the status. However, the pool in “My Flower” by JBJ is bright white and clean with ladders and railings that match the video's color scheme.
KINO’s “Pose” takes place in the pool of the abandoned Alps Ski Resort which is also the set of “Somebody” by Hwasa and LOCO. The deep end of the pool is filled with water, giving it an eerie look.
Los Angeles Theater
The historic Los Angeles Theater elevates any music video with its architecture and design.
BTS’s “Black Swan” was filmed in various areas of the theater, with the venue and lighting giving the video a high class vibe.
Although their song is of a different genre, P1Harmony also filmed in the Los Angeles Theater. Unlike BTS, P1Harmony looks like they have taken over the theater in “Do It Like This.”
Similar to P1Harmony’s “Do It Like This” is the pre-debut RIIZE track “Siren.” This minute and a half long performance video takes place mostly in front of the theaters main stairs
Turtle Island
The outdoor scenes in Red Velvet’s “Power Up” takes place in the grassy clearing of Turtle Island in Gyeonggi-do.
Nayeon’s crew added flowers and balloons to her performance video for “POP!” filmed there
fromis_9 danced on a stage set up in the clearing in their video “WE GO.”
