Our favorite co-ed group KARD has returned to drop a digital single just before the end of 2024! This single comes four months after their last release, mini-album Where To Now? (Part.1 : Yellow Light). 

Though it’s the holiday season, “Detox” isn’t a holiday single like many releases this time of year. 75% of the song is in English, with the exception of J.Seph’s rap verse. The optimistic lyrics discuss the journey and process to the discovery of self-love, opening up with the sweet vocals of Jiwoo and Somin. It’s a simple and upbeat pop song with a touch of Latin flare in the melody, a signature sound the group has often returned to in their releases.

The single is accompanied by a visualizer rather than a music video. It shows the quartet in all-white outfits against an all-white backdrop, the only color contrast being BM, J.Seph, and Jiwoo’s dark hair, along with Jiwoo’s very cute black bow in her hair. It’s a simple concept, but it is nice to see them appear happy and carefree, having fun together in the final shots of the video. The message of the track clearly takes center stage here, and with the way the world has been lately, it’s nice to get a sweet message like this as we close out 2024.
