The Boyz reflects on their journey in Last Kiss, their final music release before moving from IST Entertainment to a new company. On December 1, this three-track single album dropped alongside a nostalgic music video for “Last Kiss.” The Boyz made their debut on December 6, 2017, under Cre.Ker Entertainment, which merged into IST Entertainment in 2021. They will leave IST Entertainment in mid-December for ONE HUNDRED, a label co-founded by rapper MC MONG. ONE HUNDRED also houses the subsidiary BIG PLANET MADE, which manages the artists VIVIZ, BADVILLAIN, Taemin, Lee Mujin, Lee Seunggi, Ha Sungwoon, Ren, and BE’O.

The Title Track: “Last Kiss”

“Last Kiss” comes in a long line of Christmas singles from The Boyz, who release a winter song every year since 2019. The Boyz’s Eric and songwriters Cho Yunkyoung, Zaya, Ellie Suh, and Lee Angdoo (이앵두) wrote the lyrics. The track doubles as both a reflection of the group’s time at IST Entertainment and a romantic, cozy song for the holidays. It gives off a retro and sentimental sound reminiscent of one accompanying memories of a first love. The music video compiles clips all the way back from The Boyz’s pre-debut variety show, Flower Snack, up to behind-the-scenes content for concerts. 

The B-Sides: “Candle Light” and “Winter Sleep”

Unlike The Boyz’s previous Christmas singles, “Last Kiss” comes with two holiday-themed B-sides. The R&B songs “Candle Light” and “Winter Sleep” will shield listeners from the cold with their warm vocals and soft instrumentals. “Winter Sleep” includes lyrics written by Cho Yunkyoung and The Boyz’s Sangyeon, under his producer name Cha1. Though it’s uncertain whether the group can use their current name in future activities, The Boyz ends their time under IST Entertainment with a great present for fans.
