JxW’s First Single Release is Here

Once the news dropped that SEVENTEEN’s Jeonghan and Wonwoo were forming a subunit, everyone jumped with joy! This collaboration of members is a sub-unit we never knew we needed, but now that it’s here, we can’t get enough. JxW is the perfect mixture. Having one member from the vocal unit and another from the hip-hop unit, this subunit will do great, and they came together and did just that. JxW 1st Single Album: ‘THIS MAN’ has three songs that are just so good.

 THIS MAN

  1. “Last night (Guitar by Park Juwon)”

  2. “Beautiful Monster”

  3. “Leftover”

The title track, “Last night (Guitar by Park Juwon),” is like a movie. Firstly, the song starts with a guitar that gives off a Latin sound.  Then, there is a beat that makes you want to bounce and sway your hips. In the track, we get to hear such angelic vocals. With Jeonghan being in the vocal unit, we always get to hear his ethereal voice, but in this track, we get to hear the vocal talents of Wonwoo. The raspiness of his voice, paired together with Jeonghan's soft vocals, sounds perfect together. Fun fact, member Woozi and producer BUMZU collaborated on the creation of this piece, and the songs fit both Jeonghan and Wonwoo so well. I have to give a round of applause to the lyrics. They are deep and carry so much emotion. They talk about brutal love and how the pain digs deep. They say how they appeared in their partner's dream and sang. It’s a powerful song with a groovy beat that many will love.

The music video correlates with the song. In the video, you see the members seeing the thoughts of the people they touch, turning them into dust, putting them to sleep, and waking them up. From the video, you get the sense that they are living in two different realities. Jeonghan is seen putting people to sleep, and Wonwoo is seen waking them up. They both are going through heartache, but one is taking it better than the other. It’s a deep video that matches the lyrics. It’s like watching a movie. It’s a great title track that is going to captivate many people.

There is a song on the single release for everyone. If you are a person who enjoys more upbeat, groovy tracks, then Jeonghan’s solo piece, “Beautiful Monster,” is perfect for you. If you prefer ballads and slower songs, Wonwoo’s solo track, “Leftover,” is for you. It really is a great single release.

So, check out THIS MAN for a beautiful story, and groovy tracks.
