Xdinary Heroes Release New Digital Single Open ♭eta v6.1

Just over a month since the release of their first full-length album Troubleshooting, Xdinary Heroes are now back with a brand new digital single, Open ♭eta v6.1, consisting of "소년만화 (Boy Comics)" and a 28-second instrumental track "XH_winds_75." This digital single comes as part of the band's XPERIMENT PROJECT which they have been teasing across their socials alongside their Closed ♭eta v6.1 concert, which took place in Seoul from May 31 to June 2.

A highly energetic rock track, "소년만화 (Boy Comics)" fuels an epic audio adventure that coincides with the music video's narrative that shows a high school student’s attempt and determination to get a slice of strawberry cake from her school cafeteria; an iconic reference to “Strawberry Cake,” the fourth track from the band's first mini-album, HELLO, WORLD!

The school girl's quest to get her Strawberry Cake adds to the music video's comic and anime-inspired feel, being a fun music video for a great track. The video incorporates fun editing and filming techniques and a comic strip template, with the Xdinary Hero members each shown in a punching motion inside it in one scene. Together, the concept for "소년만화 (Boy Comics)" entertains the listener and viewer with an engaging narrative and the band's exceptional musicality, adding "소년만화 (Boy Comics)" to Xdinary Heroes's expanding catalog of charming rock songs.

The lyrics of "소년만화 (Boy Comics)" carry an empowering message of never giving up. Instead, Xdinary Heroes tell the listener to fight through the bad times and eventually win their fight by singing “Hate it, But I can’t give up / Because the protagonist of the story is me” and “Half is despair, half is hope / I need to win eventually, until the last episode.”

While only 28 seconds long, "XH_winds_75" further showcases Xdinary Heroes’s musical talents, being a sensational guitar solo that highlights Xdinary Heroes’s rockstar appeal. Whilst we have heard Junhan and Gaon’s incredible guitar playing throughout all of their other tracks, there is something sentimental and nostalgic about this small guitar piece that feels like a homage to the classic rock era, leaving you wanting to hear more once those 28 seconds conclude.

So, check out Open ♭eta v6.1 and stay tuned via Xdinary Heroes's socials for more announcements and releases regarding their XPERIMENT PROJECT. We can’t wait to see where this project is going!
