A Review For A Stellar Album

Starting strong with “Intro: Wall to Wall.” I have never heard an intro track like this before. This track could have easily been a full B-side on its own. When this R&B track dropped before the album was released, we got a look into what this album was going to be like. The rappers in this song went off. You can’t help but crunch your face and nod your head to the flow of the rap. Hearing this live would make you feel like you are levitating. It’s a great intro and gets you excited for the rest of the album.

Now for the title track, “Walk.” Just from the TikTok’s released before the album, we can tell we weren’t the only ones excited for this album.

This might be, if not my favorite, one of my favorite NCT 127 title tracks. The 90s’ sound to the song creates this laid back title track. The hip-hop incorporation gives the song this groovy beat that makes you sway. Compared to their previous title tracks, this one is sort of a new sound for 127. The members' vocals and flow are on full display in this one. We can hear member Taeil doing his signature belts. Members Mark, Johnny, Jaehyun, and Taeyong can be heard with smooth raps that fit this 90s’ aesthetic they have. Haechan, Doyoung, Yuta, and Jungwoo's vocals are striking and are a good comparison to the rappers. This is a song you can listen to on repeat with no problems. Each time will excite you like it’s the first time you heard it.

The video looks like it was so much fun to film. The members are seen walking around, with a huge emphasis on their shoes. There’s one part where we see the member's shoes on fire, so they run to a pool to cool off. There are funny moments in the video that make you burst out laughing. The choreography sticks to the hard-hitting moves that NCT is known for. The dance itself makes you want to get up and dance, and I might have done that while watching. It’s a great title track and that makes your day.

With 11 songs, you are bound to find a favorite of yours. While listening to the album, you find the songs that speak to you and make you feel the best. There are songs on this album that scream NEO. Songs like “No Clue,” “Pricey,” and “Gas” keep to those hard-hitting tracks we know and love from NCT. Each song has heavy parts that feature the rappers and catchy electro beats that make you want to bust a move while still showcasing the vocalists.

Being the unit that sings more R&B, there are songs on this album that stick to that sound. The ballads on this album are groovy and make you nod along to the song. Tracks like, “Time Capsule,” “Can’t Help Myself,” “Rain Drop,” and “Suddenly” all stick to that R&B genre while merging in other genres like jazz and hip-hop. It is always a joy to hear the members sing and the vocalists pop off on these songs. It’s cool to see them combine different genres to make a signature sound and aura we all know and love.

For the girlies who prefer the more cutesy, upbeat, and Pop-focused tracks, songs like “Orange Seoul,” and “Meaning of Love” are perfect for you. Both are adorable and scream pop. Merging jazz and an acoustic sound, both make you happy, and a smile is bound to form on your face. The “Meaning of Love” video is so cute and matches the sound and aura of the track. It’s a fun and bubbly way to end the album and makes you want to start the whole album over again.
