This Beat Is Fire

Have you ever heard a beat that left you stunned? A beat drop so good you can’t help but scrunch your face and move along to the beat? I have come across plenty. Like many others, I grew up listening to genres like EDM, house music, rock, and pop-punk. So, when I hear a song with a strong beat I gravitate to it. So today, we are going to talk about B-sides from our favorite groups where the beat is so good.

DDU-DU DDU-DU (Remix) - BLACKPINK

On April 5, 2019, YG Entertainment mega girl group BLACKPINK dropped their EP, KILL THIS LOVE. On that EP is their remix to their hit title track, “DDU-DU DDU-DU.” This remix is the full factor. If you want to feel like you are at a rave, put your headphones on and play this song. The remix will get you hype. The track incorporates the EDM genre with a mixture of rock as well. While listening to this track, you are bound to get up and dance. It’s a hype B-side that would be awesome to see on stage. This song as an encore would have the entire stadium on their feet. BLACKPINK’s music always has hard-hitting beats, and this is another hype track added to their list.

Shaboom - ATEEZ

Recently KQ Entertainment boy group ATEEZ dropped their EP, GOLDEN HOUR: Part.1. On this EP is the track “Shaboom.” We all know how addictive ATEEZ’s music is and how their beats are always something to groove to, and if you went to the tour, you know how easily you can lose your voice from screaming the lyrics. There is always a killer beat drop, and it is so much fun to listen to. “Shaboom” is a mixture of EDM/house music and reggae. From the first listen, you are shocked to hear this mixture of two genres on different ends, but they make it come together in the end. The beat reminds me of music from artists like Jack Ü (a group with EDM legends Skrillex and Diplo), or DJ Snake. It’s a beat that you can party to, and dance to in your room.

Skyway - GOT7

On September 27, 2016, former JYP Entertainment hit boy group GOT7 dropped their full-length album, FLIGHT LOG: TURBULENCE. The first song on the album, which sets the mood for the rest, is the hard-hitting track “Skyway.” While still sticking to that EDM sound, this one also has a heavy bass beat as well. All of GOT7’s music is addictive, and this is one I can sing word for word. “I will take you skyway” will be replaying in your head constantly and you can’t help but dance along. The video they made for this song just proves how much fun this song is, and to start an album like this is so cool. I had the pleasure of seeing this live, and it has forever changed my life and I would do anything to see it once again.
