Throwback Thursday: The Color is White

A new month means what? New Color! This month, we are going to cover the color white. This color is bright and angelic. The albums in this list have such a glowing aura to them, and are perfectly wrapped into a couple of songs. So, let’s take it back and talk about these albums that are bright like the color white.

EXID - Ah Yeah

On April 13, 2015, iconic girl group EXID dropped their full-length album, Ah Yeah. This album cover is striking. The cover is all white, and in bold black and pink lettering, the girl group's name is spelled out. The members are seen posing on the floor wearing black leather jackets. The black on the white background sticks out and your eyes gravitate to it. Ah Yeah is an eight-song album with “Ah Yeah” as its title track. “Ah Yeah” is one of their well-known title tracks. Like their track, “Up & Down,” everyone knows the choreography for this upbeat track. The B-sides, “A Sul Hae,” “Todak Todak,” “Without U,” “1M,” “Up & Down,” “Every Night (Version 2), and “Ah Yeah (Instrumental)” are all so much fun to listen to. This album will go down in history, and will forever be iconic.

SEVENTEEN - SEVENTEEN 4th Mini Album ‘AI1’ - EP

On May 22, 2017, Pledis Entertainment mega-hit group SEVENTEEN dropped their hit EP, SEVENTEEN 4th Mini Album ‘AI1’. The album is simple but holds so much meaning. The all-white background, featuring a hand surrounded by SEVENTEEN’s 13 matching rings shows the togetherness of the group.  The album has six songs in total. The title track, “Don’t Wanna Cry” is a beautiful ballad that showcases the synchronization and vocals of the group. The B-sides, “Habit,” “If I,” “Swimming Fool,” “My I,” and “Crazy in Love” are such good songs that many CARATS love to this day!

SF9 - FIRST COLLECTION

On January 7, 2020, FNC Entertainment boy group SF9 dropped their album, FIRST COLLECTION. The cover of this album is elegant and simple. The background is all white and in an elegant gold coloring, you see the iconic SF9 logo. It’s nice and simple but still shows the sophistication that SF9 has. There are 10 songs total on this album that you will enjoy. The title track, “Good Guy,” is what I think of when describing “SF9’s sound.” The group is known for their more upbeat but sensual dance moves and sound, and in this song, you hear exactly that. The B-sides, “Am I the Only One,” “Shh,” “Lullu Lalla,” “One Love,” “Like the Hands Held Tight,” “Fire,” “Stop It Now,” “Dance with Us,” and “Beautiful Light” are all so good and are a joy to listen to.
