What’s The Kraze: GOT7

This week, The Kraze talks GOT7 and how wonderful it is to have them home as seven.

Kelly (Co-Editor-in-Chief): Seeing GOT7 comeback has been so wholesome and I think after the rough year that 2024 was for K-Pop, this energy was much needed to start off 2025.

Watching their relay dance for “PYTHON” was probably the most wholesome thing I’ve ever seen, especially Jackson and BamBam. They’re just having so much fun!I know they didn’t really go anywhere but it feels so great to have them back.

Antonia (Outreach Coordinator): A GOT7 comeback is always a pleasure. They have such an entertaining aura about them that feels so carefree. I’m loving all the content they’re releasing too! We needed a full comeback with promotions from them! Also I love how the album showcases all their individual sounds in a cohesive way. You can tell which member wrote what song but it works so well for all of them.

Kelly: YES!!! GOT7 has always been an infectious group but I feel like this comeback is really showcasing that. While I’m over the moon that seasoned fans get to have their favorite group back, I hope it brings in a lot of new fans too. I’m interested to see how they grow in this new chapter!

Cidney (Writer): I have been an Ahgase for a while, and seeing them back on music shows and releasing content has truly filled a spot in my heart I didn't know was missing. I started going back and watching older content of theirs, and I'm just getting a wave of memories/emotions from when I first watched it. They are such a funny and talented group, and seeing them back on the stage reminds me of an era of K-Pop that I miss.

Kelly: I feel you! That’s exactly it. I feel like they’re really bringing an energy that has been missing lately. We’ve seen plenty of older groups return from military hiatus, etc. and it’s always a joy to see them adapt to newer K-Pop trends but I feel like GOT7 has somehow bridged the gap entirely. And I feel you on bringing “that magic back.” Technically, their song “HOME RUN” was my first K-Pop song so having GOT7 back in the game feels special (pun intended).

Courtney (Writer): I was always only a casual listener of GOT7, I knew some of their songs (probably mostly their title tracks) but never found myself fully engaged in their content. But I really enjoy Jackson, Yugyeom, and BamBam's solo material so through those three, I found myself really excited for this comeback and it's made me dive deeper into their group discography and the other member's solo material, which I now love.

And like Cidney said, GOT7 also remind me of an era of K-Pop that I miss so by looking back at their older stuff and looking forward to their newer stuff, it's somewhat giving me nostalgia and reminding me of the time when I first discovered K-Pop and was finding all these *new* bands to get into and obsess over.

Kelly: I think that is another facet of it too: having watched all of them pursue their own careers in the meantime and grow as artists and then to have all that talent come back together as a group is pretty magical!

Cidney: It’s just something about watching them come back and do promotion activities that brings out a heightened level of serotonin. For example, them playing around during the relay dance, and arriving with their name tags on their hoodies. It’s also fun to watch them do new age things too, like Jinyoung taking the Music Bank railing pic.

Jacob (Writer): Adding onto what the others have said, I'm impressed with the members' bond and ownership over the group's copyright and related matters. It's a great story of what can happen even after a group leaves their original company.
