SINGAPORE, 6 May 2022 – The leads of new Korean drama Shooting Stars, Lee Sungkyung and Kim Youngdae, have released a new fun Q&A video for iQiyi audiences.

Shooting Stars features popular South Korean actors such as Lee Sungkyung, Kim Youngdae, Yoon Jonghoon, Lee Jungshin, Kim Yoonhye, and Sojin and was directed by Lee Soohyun. The series premiered on iQiyi’s global site (iq.com) and mobile app on April 23 and airs concurrently with South Korean networks.

Lee Sungkyung stars as Oh Hanbyeol, the PR Lead of a management company. One of their most popular actors, Gong Taesung (played by Kim Youngdae) has a wonderful public image, but is a completely different person in reality. Oh doesn’t get along with Gong, but has to do her best to ensure that his public image remains perfect.

In the video, Lee describes her character as someone who, “has outstanding eloquence and excellent crisis response skills.” She is envious of her character’s excellent abilities to handle things, but just like Hanbyeol, she tends to be careless and forgetful.

As for Kim, he describes his character Gong as, “the ace star of an entertainment company,” who like himself is, “a little immature and mischievous,” but more composed inside, adding that both himself and his character are unexpectedly frivolous.

In response to that, Lee jumps in to disagree, describing both Kim and Gong as “cute” rather than “frivolous.”

Relieving Stress Through “Self-Protection?”

When it comes to dealing with stress, Lee likes to travel to distract herself from work stress through “self-protection.”

“When I had time, I’d take a trip to some foreign country. Because in a foreign country, you need to protect yourself. When you are focused on that, the stress is naturally released.”

While she plays a strong career woman in Shooting Stars, Lee admits that she still needs rest from time to time, and while she can’t travel now, she is looking for other alternatives to relieve stress.

On the other hand, Kim shared that he is not as self-aware when it comes to stress, and it tends to build up gradually for him until it bursts and disappears. He calls himself, “a little slow and simple,” and doesn’t usually realize that he is under stress.
