Marry My Husband Reaches Global Heights on Prime Video

Leading entertainment company CJ E&M revealed that the current global fan-favorite drama Marry My Husband, produced by its subsidiary Studio Dragon, is setting unprecedented records for K-Drama on Prime Video.

According to FlixPatrol, Marry My Husband started strong in the week of its launch by ranking sixth on the “Weekly Top TV Shows in the World” on Prime Video. Since the second week of release, it has remained second for three consecutive weeks. The series has also placed atop 33 regions including Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Singapore, and ranked within the Top 10 in 112 regions cumulatively until January 29. Following this ascending trend, Marry My Husband is expected to become the first K-Drama serviced on Prime Video to rank second on the “Monthly Top TV Shows in the World.”

The popularity of the series is also rising in Western regions, where it ranked within the Top 10 in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Netherlands, and Italy. This makes Marry My Husband the first K-Drama on the platform to score remarkable achievements outside of the regions where K-Dramas have typically shown success.

Major global outlets are also spotlighting this momentum of Marry My Husband. NME acclaimed it as a “deliciously melodramatic, immensely addictive” series that “satisfies by giving the audience exactly what they want.” Screen Rant praised, “Marry My Husband is already set to be among the best K-Dramas of 2024 with just a few episodes released so far.”

Prime Video is a global leader in streaming with a subscriber figure surpassing 200 million as of 2023. A survey revealed that approximately 70% of paid streaming viewers are subscribed to Prime Video in the United States and the United Kingdom.

A Studio Dragon representative remarked, “Based on the user demographics of Prime Video, viewers across Asia and the West are all contributing to the global rise of Marry My Husband. Especially in Western regions where K-Dramas of stronger genres tend to receive more love, Marry My Husband is showing exceptional popularity as a romance-fantasy series. We anticipate this show to expand the K-Drama viewership.”

Marry My Husband airs every Monday and Tuesday evening on tvN in Korea. The series is available for streaming internationally on Prime Video.
