KCON 2018 LA Artists Day 1
Another year, another round of yearly KCON festivals complete. As many others, you’re probably experiencing the post KCON depression that comes along with attending any fabulous event. Let’s take a look back at this year’s KCON LA artists and some of their best B-sides.
“I Will Go to You Like the First Snow” - Ailee
For one of the most intense and heart-wrenching ballads out there, look no further than the enchanting vocals of Ailee in her incredibly famous Goblin OST track “I Will Go to You Like the First Snow.” The song gained a ridiculous amount of popularity in Korea in tandem with the drama, and maintained high rankings on music charts for an extended period of time. The moving, intense ballad showcases Ailee’s unbelievable vocal talent while delivering an incredibly emotional message that’s almost guaranteed to get you teared up.
“2U” - IN2IT
IN2IT is fairly new to the scene, but the group has released enough music to prove they are contenders in the K-Pop world. “2U” is a heartwarming love song with a happy, yet relaxing, beat that makes the listener feel as if they’re enveloped in warmth. The sweet vocals and soothing raps make for a perfectly easygoing love song.
“Curious” - MOMOLAND
MOMOLAND is certainly known for bringing a charming quirkiness to their music, and “Curious” captures this in a much less outward way than title tracks “Bboom Bboom” and “BAAM.” “Curious” has a bright, though subdued, feel that is somehow off brand for MOMOLAND, but still so distinctly them.
“One in a Million” - TWICE
We suppose we’re feeling particularly sentimental this week, as the next track, “One in a Million” by TWICE, continues the soft, warm trend of previous choices. TWICE has plenty of notable B-side tracks, but “One in a Million” leaves a lasting impression as a beautiful song to comfort ONCEs and all listeners alike with sweet words relaying how each person is unique and worthy in life. If you’re having a hard day, this is a great song to turn to for comfort.
“Close Your Eyes” - Crush
You can always count on Crush to provide some high-quality R&B melodies in a sea of high-energy pop/rap tracks. “Close Your Eyes” is a perfect mix of EDM influences and traditional R&B, and the addition of AOMG princess Hoody’s amazing vocals ties this track together perfectly.
