Throwback Thursday: New Years’ Resolutions Pt. 2

Following up on last week’s workout throwbacks to jumpstart your 2020 fitness goals, this week’s Throwback Thursday is dedicated to getting happy! A new year means a fresh start, so start your 2020 off on the right foot with this healthy dose of K-Pop serotonin.

”Feel So Good” - B.A.P

This cut off of B.A.P’s Criminal from 2016 is a no-brainer for this list. Everything from “Feel So Good” radiates euphoria, from the vibrant pastels in the video to the disco influence evident in the music. Whether you’re planning the party of the year or dedicating your day to me, myself, and I, B.A.P want you to have the time of your life and they’re here to help.

“Heroine” - Sunmi

Finding happiness isn’t as much of an end goal as it is a never-ending journey and with her 2018 hit “Heroine,” Sunmi is here to remind us that perseverance is what counts. Despite the upbeat backing track, “Heroine” is a sad though hopeful song about dealing with whatever hand has been dealt. After all, “the show must go on.”

“MAMA” - BTS

J-Hope’s solo song “MAMA” off of BTS’s Wings is perhaps the happiest song ever written. Released in 2016, the song is a tribute to the artist’s mother for her endless sacrifices and support to help her son achieve his dreams. Musically, the song is already overflowing with J-Hope’s signature sunshine style but the heartfelt lyrics to his mother jack up the joy to unreachable heights. One listen and you’ll never feel like being sad again.

“Loving U” - SISTAR

The undisputed Queens of Summer, SISTAR know a thing or two about feel-good jams. “Loving U” comes off the group’s 2012 Summer Special album and right from the opening guitar riff, you know it’s going to be a bop. The song has SISTAR’s usual disco-party touch to it but it’s the ooh-ooh-oohs in the chorus that make this track infectious. Yes, you’ll be singing along, and yes, you’ll be smiling.
