ATEEZ Welcomes You into the Fellowship at Their First Concert
Despite the blistering cold and the heightened tension created by the spread of the novel coronavirus, ATINY turned out in droves for ATEEZ’s first solo concert in South Korea. The concert titled The Fellowship: Map The Treasure took place on February 8-9 at Olympic Hall in Seoul’s Songpa district. We had the chance to catch their very first concert. Here’s the highs, lows, and in betweens of the whole night.
Insane Lines
At any concert, you would expect lines. Lines for the bathroom, lines for merchandise, lines for ticket pickup, and even lines for food. However, at this event the lines were so long to the point of insanity. Fans had lined up the night before for merchandise and it still took more than four hours to get through the line. The worst part about this was the fact that the venue staff failed to implement purchase limits when merchandise sales opened, meaning those at the front were able to wipe out most of the stock within the first two hours of the sale. There was also a lack of lightsticks—not even enough to light the venue—even though staff implemented a two-per-ticket rule from the start. The venue only had two cashiers and five staff pulling merchandise, and there was no separate express line for just lightsticks, which would have cut down the line tremendously. The cold temperatures partnered with the massive lines were not conducive to reducing the spread of a virus.
The Show
Because of the concern surrounding the novel coronavirus, KQ Entertainment enforced heightened sanitation rules including hand sanitization and masks as well as thermal cameras to check temperatures upon entry. Masked up and sanitized, fans filed into the venue. Excited energy surged as the stage was seen for the first time, and the fact many people were finally defrosting from the frigid temperatures outside. From the very beginning, the show was explosive, a simple set turned into a canvas for ATEEZ to paint a picture of our journey to the fellowship.

ATEEZ had a total of five different outfits during the show. The opening outfits were the black military outfits seen in all of the promotion materials for the show.

The final outfits worn for the encore were the tour hoodies and slacks, a relaxing look as they closed out the night.
Show Highlights
The setlist tells a story that helps connect the dots of the first steps of ATEEZ’s journey, from the beginning of show with the ship being prepared to set sail until they crashed. “If Without You” featured a cute photo time and the members throwing signed balls into the audience, Hongjoong forgetting his microphone during a part meant to build hype, making the moment cute. The tear-jerking stage of “Star 1117” had the fans crying by the end of it. The announcement of the lightstick’s name came with much anticipation and the amazement of the members as they witnessed the arena being filled with color. A disappointing yet understandable change to the events due to the virus was the shared mark of “fellowship,” a new symbol that we are likely to see more of in the future album. Audience members were supposed to be stamped with it as they entered the venue.

Final Thoughts
Despite the blistering cold, the novel coronavirus concerns, and the lack of preparation for merchandise demand, ATEEZ’s first concert was an overwhelming success. The show was captivating from beginning to end. It is unclear if they will keep the same setlist for the rest of the tour—many shows across the globe have had to add additional seats due to demand, meaning that many are ready to join ATEEZ on their journey.
