5 Female Idol Cover Dances to Get You Moving

If you’ve been bored in your house like the rest of us, you could likely use some extra motivation to get off your feet and move. Luckily for us, there are some amazing dance cover videos just waiting to be watched and appreciated by some of our favorite girl group members. Here are five dance videos by some amazing female idols to inspire you to get on your feet and dance, even if it's from the comfort of your home!

Lili Films

If you’ve been anywhere on the internet, you may have heard that BLACKPINK’s long awaited comeback is in the works! With that anticipation on our backs, let’s appreciate the content that Lisa gifted us with while we waited. Lisa has filmed several high quality dance covers, all of which can be found on her Lilifilm Official YouTube account. She’s done choreography for several songs, but “#3”, her latest one, has an extra spark that just can’t be ignored! With the combination of floor action and sass, Lisa gives us everything and more. Her dance moves were so impressive they inspired various memes online. If you like this video, make sure to check out the rest of her Lili Films in addition to BLACKPINK’s various other cover dances.

Dreamcatcher

Another girl group member with amazing dancing ability is Sua from Dreamcatcher! This cover video involves only three members of the group, JiU, Yoohyeon, and of course Sua. Dreamcatcher as a whole has amazing dancing ability and creative concepts, but Sua went the extra mile by choreographing a cute ensemble number to “Taki Taki”. Making choreography takes just as much talent as dancing, so it’s pretty cool that the girls chose to do such a fun side project in addition to their group activities. If you like what you see, Dreamcatcher has also covered various boy group dances!

Hyolyn

We all know Hyolyn as a solo queen who isn’t afraid to be sexy and defy Korean beauty standards, as evidenced by her hit song “Dally” with provocative choreography to match. Hyolyn has gotten to know the American dance scene well since working with Aliya Janell on her previous choreography, so she has plenty of videos showcasing her dancing ability and passion! One super eye-catching video though is a dance she filmed with Nicole Kirkland in LA. This choreography oozes confidence and agility, hence the need for kneepads.

YooA from Oh My Girl

Another girl group member that has been doing her thing with solo dance projects is YooA from Oh My Girl. She filmed a dance video for the Jonas Brothers’ “Sucker” a while ago, but more recently opted for an edgier overall vibe with a hip-hop song. The switch up in music styles definitely showcases her versatility and varied taste in music, which we greatly appreciate, and the male back up dancers make her stand out even more! If hip-hop dancing is more your style, YooA’s cover video for “Traffic” by O.T. Genasis will likely give you a show!

LOONA

Last but certainly not least, LOONA the dancing queens cannot be ignored. They’ve gained attention for having what some see as the hardest girl group choreography and through their numerous stages, they’ve proven that they can dance just as well as the boys! They’ve covered multiple boy group dances, but the one that really deserves an award is their cover of NCT 127’s notorious “Cherry Bomb”. Few people have successfully covered the entirety of “Cherry Bomb” in all its complicated glory, but somehow LOONA makes it look easy and manages to look great while doing it!

If these dance videos didn’t prove to you that girls can dance just as well as boys, nothing will! With different styles and routines, female idols possess a love for dance that they’re constantly sharing with their fans. So, if you’re feeling bored or simply want a new routine to get yourself moving, take inspiration from these girls and you’ll be a dancing queen in no time. Just remember to stay safe!
