LIGHTSUM Shows Off Glitz and Glamour in “VIVACE”

Rookie girl group LIGHTSUM has made their first comeback since debut with new single album Light a Wish! The new single album features three tracks, showing a bit more to the girl group after their true single debut, “Vanilla.” Latest title “VIVACE” shows a more glamorous side to the girls. 

The title has a very cute and upbeat pop feel, adding a bit of sparkle to the overall concept of the comeback. The driving beat mixes smoothly with the groups’ vocals. It’s a pretty typical bubblegum pop track, save for the rap verses that add a harder element to the overall sound. It almost has a summer comeback type of vibe, even as fall takes center stage. 

The video is a gorgeous mix of bright colors and killer fashion, with a sophisticated and elegant look taking center stage in the outfits. A lot of the outfits have the same look as designer brands, and the differing outfit for each member while maintaining the same theme really ties the whole concept together. Bright purples and blues contrasted with yellow and pink make the video pop.

The additional tracks on Light a Wish are “You, jam” and “Popcorn.” Right off the bat, “You, jam” has a totally different feel from title “VIVACE,” with a heavily influenced hip-hop type of beat. It brings a great contrast to the sound the girls have brought thus far, showing a bit more to their diversity. “Popcorn” goes back to that bright, pop-heavy sound with a bit more oomph behind the beat.
