woo!ah! Wants a World That’s “Purple”

It’s been six months since we last had a woo!ah! comeback, and now they’ve returned with the colorful track “Purple.” In comparison to their previous trendy and cute title tracks, the girls show a slightly more mature side in this track about love.

woo!ah! have celebrated over a year since the release of their debut single “woo!ah!,” which gained traction online for its addictive pre-chorus. The girls also released another irresistible track soon after titled “Bad Girl,” which was their first comeback without former member Songyee. In total, the girls have eight songs under their belt in their first year as a fourth generation K-Pop group.

For this comeback, woo!ah! released their third single album titled “WISH”. The album contains three songs: title track “Purple,” “Scaredy Cat,” and “Pandora.” Each track gives off its own eccentric and enchanting vibe to diversify their discography.

The song “Purple” is a bouncy pop song that emphasizes falling in love with someone special—a love so mesmerizing it combines red and blue personas to create purple. The girls added in their signature shout “woo ah!” at the beginning of the track. The lyrics paint a picture of a fairytale-like love with the line, “My Peter Pan, take me to Neverland.” Throughout the track, we hear members Lucy and Nana’s rich and luxurious deep vocals that give depth to the bubbly track. The line that’s sure to be stuck in your head is, “Let’s make purple.” A few noteworthy moments in “Purple” are the slowed tempo when the song reaches the bridge and the final chorus with a sound switch up that’s both powerful and energetic.

The music video paints a beautiful and enchanting scenery of a castle in the distance. In this castle, the girls are each in a colorful room that has subtle hints of purple in the background. For the dancing shots, the girls perform a TikTok-esque choreography that’s sure to be the next dance challenge online. There’s a lot to absorb from the magical setting: cotton candy, cars, glittery effects, and a wide shot of the alluring fantasy land. During the bridge of the track, the video focuses on member Wooyeon’s jaw-dropping visuals in a gorgeous red gown, giving her a princess-like resemblance. The video comes to an end with a dance party where the word “purple” is featured in the background among fireworks in the night sky.

Overall, woo!ah!’s irresistible and trendsetting concepts are sure to bring them continued success for the next chapter of their career. Their enchanting and magical music video is like a modern day fairytale. Watch as they turn their world “Purple” in their music video below!
