Wonho returns with his most mature solo album yet. The singer-songwriter released his latest album Blue Letter on September 14, supported by the lead single “BLUE.” Wonho took part in the writing process of the entire album, featuring English and Korean tracks, and even includes a Korean and an English version of the title track. Let’s take a look at what he had to say.

The title track “BLUE” encapsulates the album’s dual message where Wonho shares the hopefulness of the bright blue sea with the melancholy of the deep blue sea. The color blue has been adopted by the idol as his signature color, using it in his album concepts, lightstick, and overall aesthetic. “BLUE” is a classic summer pop track with an addictive chorus that shines the spotlight on Wonho’s vocals. The music video finds Wonho portraying a young jock on the football team and features his signature sleek moves and sexy wardrobe, accentuating his amazing physique. Wonho’s signature blue streaks are also back as he went blond earlier this year.

This time around, the album's B-sides showcase Wonho’s songwriting skills. Beautiful lyrics about pain and hopefulness can be found on songs like the ballad “Stranger” and “24/7.” The B-sides are also sonically diverse, with Wonho tackling more R&B sounds. With Blue Letter, Wonho is expanding his horizons and experimenting with new styles. Watch the music video for “BLUE” below!
