EXID Makes a “FIRE” Return to K-Pop
It’s been a long time coming but the legendary and iconic girl-crushes, EXID, have made their long-awaited and highly anticipated comeback! 2022 is looking to be a year where second generation veterans are coming back to the music scene in full swing, and EXID has been a group that many have yearned for a reunion since their departure from their previous label. While in no way disbanded, EXID has been silent for the past couple of years and left many wondering when the group would create music again. Fresh off of celebrating their 10 year anniversary, much to everyone’s delight, EXID is back with their newest EP, X.

EXID has done it once again in delivering a fiery, sassy, and charismatic song to add to their repertoire of hit songs. “FIRE” proves that they have not lost their touch in bringing something that is so catchy and addictive that it’s bound to be on repeat for a long time to come. “FIRE” makes one want to get up and dance very much to the summer vibe of a track. You can practically feel the heat roll off the song, and the confidence of all the members just further amplifies that EXID is back and better than ever.
The song itself is all about how they know they’re bringing the heat, and the fire they bring is out of control. They’re so hot that the only way they can be contained is by locking them up (but even then it doesn’t help much). With a spicy edge, EXID is sure to keep burning it up and leave a scorching mark that keeps others wanting more and more.
In the music video, the ladies don reds and oranges in their wardrobe to fit into the fiery theme of the song. While there aren’t many actual flames involved until the very end, the essence of fire is still heavily emphasized in summery outfits and special effects. And true to EXID style, the key choreography is also a focal point of the drop of the chorusl. While it’s a simple hip movement, don’t be surprised when you see this dance going viral all over the internet like their predecessors in “Up & Down,” “Hot Pink,” and “DDD” to name a few.
As a great reintroduction to newer K-Pop fans, EXID blows it out of the park by bringing such a great song, especially after being apart for so long. “FIRE” definitely exceeds expectations and proved to be well worth the excitement and buzz upon the announcement of their reunion. One can only hope that they don’t take a long time to come back and remind fans who they are and why they are a powerhouse group in the industry.
