Bring Back the Christmas Funk with NMIXX

NMIXX is back and wishing for many lovely things this Christmas, but the funkiest of all is a glitter-filled party. The rookie girl group released their first-ever holiday single on November 22, 2022, just in time to start feeling the holiday spirit. 

“Funky Glitter Christmas” is all things NMIXX, from a talking intro from member Kyujin starting off the song to a funky dance-filled melody. The girls sing and rap about being excited to feel the Christmas spirit all around the world but still hope for one thing: a funky glitter Christmas. They express that the idea of being together will help the world shine like glitter. With a classic upbeat Christmas-like melody, the song hooks you right in and gets stuck in your head. They also didn’t forget to include their iconic Spanish phrase like they do in every song; this time, it’s “Feliz Navidad.” 

The music video doesn’t steer away from classic NMIXX shots like standing in a line as a group holding up colorful dresses. The bright music video gives you a feel as to what friendship looks like around the holidays and allows you to experience the fun with the girls. While the video contains no intense choreography, which is something very rare for NMIXX, it still puts you in the dancing mood. The video ends with photos that seem to be part of a scrapbook to show the true meaning of the holidays is the memories made with each other.
