Best of November B-Sides

November has flown by. How is it nearly December already? Were we too engrossed in all the great K-Pop releases from this month to notice the days passing by? There have been so many great comebacks and debuts this month, and we still have a couple more to look forward to over the last few days of the month. But for now, here are just some of my favorite B-sides from this November.

“Zzz..” - Xdinary Heroes

This incredible B-side from Xdinary Heroeslatest mini-album, Overload (check out my review here), is such a fun and addictive opening track, especially with them singing about bananas being long and a wild goose in the very first few lines. “Zzz..” is full of such nonsensical lyrics, connecting to the sleepy theme of the song, that when mixed with the melody, they play along with this sci-fi sounding instrumentation, creating a really fun song to listen and sing along to.

“Tell Me” - FIFTY FIFTY

New girl group on the K-Pop block, FIFTY FIFTY made an incredible debut with their EP THE FIFTY. Opening track “Tell Me” carries a dreamy, early 2000s pop melody with soft vocals provided by each of the four members. The song is catchy with a cute concept, singing about their desire of wanting someone to tell them how they feel about them.

“Middle with you” - B.I

The third track from B.I's latest EP Love or Loved, Pt.1, "Middle with you" takes on a bedroom pop feel with its laidback pop, hip-hop sound. The song is mostly sung in English, with only a few sentences in Korean in the second verse and the bridge. B.I really knows how to capture a great story and emotion with his lyrics

“Blood Moon” - YooA

Taken from YooA's latest mini-album SELFISH, "Blood Moon" carries a sexy R&B melody that is driven by a smooth, funky bass line and YooA's whisper-like vocals. The way YooA sings the chorus, starting from a lower register that gradually builds up to a higher register, while also drifting in and out of high and low vocals throughout the whole track is so different yet pleasing to listen to.
