Kick Off the Holiday Season with These Christmas Tracks

“A Gift!” - Zion.T

Last year, Zion.T finally gifted us a Christmas single! The K-R&B singer brought his unique flair to the season in the form of an upbeat tempo track highlighting his distinctive vocals. The melody itself is fairly simple—the type of retro driving beat you’d expect of a classic holiday song. The final verse incorporates orchestral elements that add an emotional feeling, wrapping the song up nicely like a meticulously prepared gift.

“Snowing” - Urban Zakapa

For years, this has always been one of my favorite holiday tracks when the season comes around. We don’t often get a classic Christmas track from Korean artists, as they tend to add their own flair to most songs. But Urban Zakapa’s “Snowing” elicits a nostalgic feeling as it takes inspiration from the classic Christmas tracks of the 1940s. With the prominent jingle bells driving the melody and the beautiful vocals of the three members taking center stage, this track is guaranteed to fill you with holiday cheer.

“merry merry” - SOLE

K-R&B Christmas singles are much less common than K-Pop, but luckily SOLE gifted us a new track in 2021. The song has a waltz time signature that kicks in about halfway through the first verse, which gives it a distinctive sound. Accompanied by the classic light bells often present in Christmas songs, SOLE’s vocals shine and provide a warmth to this sweet track.

“Just because” - Baek A Yeon feat. JAY B

This is another favorite holiday release all the way back from 2016. Baek A Yeon and JAY B’s vocals meld together perfectly to create a beautiful track that’s bound to warm your heart. Something about the harmonizations in this track is just perfect, and at the time, it gave more depth to JAY B’s vocal talents in a way we may not have gotten as obviously in his work with GOT7.
