Keeping a Healthy Balance: Life vs. K-Pop

It’s always fun being a K-Pop stan, but while it can be fun, there has to be a certain boundary when it comes to being a K-Pop stan and balancing your everyday life.

Liking K-Pop is Not a Personality Trait

Anyone who is a K-Pop stan needs to always remember that just because you like this genre of music, it’s not something that should make up your entire personality. Being an active fan of K-Pop and keeping up with comebacks and content is always fun, but when it turns into being the only thing you ever talk about, it can be exhausting for those around you. Don’t feel bad for being excited about a comeback - just know when it’s time to step back and understand it may not be something everyone you know would also be excited about.

Not Everyone Will Understand Your Interest

Backing up the first point, you may have friends with interests that are completely different from yours, and it may not be K-Pop. Not everyone is going to understand your interest in the genre, whether it be due to the language barrier or it just generally doesn’t interest them. Remember, that’s perfectly okay!

It’s Okay to Take a Step Back

It’s always okay if you feel overwhelmed by things going on in your life to take a step back from consuming content and take care of yourself. Taking a break can be good for you in the long run. Things happen in life that you can’t control, and it’s important to recognize when it’s time to take a step back and take care of those things.

Life Happens! K-Pop Content Won’t Go Anywhere

Content is everywhere you look on social media. For whatever reason you need to take a break from social media and consuming content, just know the content isn’t going anywhere and you can always go back and watch it when you’re ready. Don’t stress about missing an episode of a variety show or a music video dropping right on time. It will be there when you’re ready for it.

Recognize that while being a K-Pop stan can be a fun time, it’s always good to step back sometimes and take care of your personal life outside of it. Don’t stress over it!
