CRAVITY Are Giving Us One Shot of “Adrenaline”

On March 22, boy group CRAVITY released their highly anticipated album LIBERTY: IN OUT COSMOS. Fans patiently waited for the album, as CRAVITY's comeback was pushed back from February 22 due to members testing positive for COVID-19. Now, the boys have recovered, are in good health, and are more than ready to present new music and new stages to fans and the entire K-Pop industry.

Right off the bat, this release feels slightly different from those in the past. The album mixes various genres: EDM, pop, hip-hop, trap, etc. This combination gives a light and refreshing sound to the album, and it is very welcomed. This freshness kicks off with the lead track "Adrenaline." With lyrics written by members Serim and Allen, the title track is energetic, going back and forth between pop vocals and rap verses to funky beats. This lightness carries over to the music video, which shows the members as students attempting to confess to their crush. It's bright, colorful, and fun, showing the youthfulness of the members and going hand in hand with the song itself.

The rest of the album follows suit with this energy. Each song flows seamlessly into the next, giving a mix of songs that range from those more EDM influences, like "BOPPIN'," "FLIP THE FRAME," and "Outro: In Our Cosmos," to more R&B and pop like in "Late Night." We get our fix or pop-punk and hip-hop from "POW!" and pop bliss with "Maybe Baby." While each song has its unique sounds, they still all meld and work together on the album, making it a solid body of work.

LIBERTY: IN OUT COSMOS is a testament to how much CRAVITY has grown in just two years. The group is just shy of their second anniversary, and as CRAVITY enters the last of their rookie years, they are refining their sound and themselves as artists. LIBERTY: IN OUT COSMOS marks a bright spot for the group, and we're already eagerly awaiting what else they have in store. Be sure to check out LIBERTY: IN OUT COSMOS!
