Throwback Thursday: Grab Your Mics
We all know a K-Pop song where once it starts, we feel like we are part of the group. Once that song turns on, you stand up, take the stage, and sing your heart out. I can now name five songs that I know all the words to. So grab your mics and hit the stage, and let's look at some songs that we all know the lyrics to.
“LOVE SCENARIO” - iKON
Come on, everyone knows this song. iKON released this masterpiece on January 25, 2018, and many of us have been obsessed with this song ever since. “LOVE SCENARIO” is a track many of us know the lyrics to and have heard many times. Many of us wish we could put a finger on what makes this song so addictive. It’s overall a fun and heartfelt track. The iKON members put their all into this release, and it shows. It will forever remain “IKONIC” and makes all of us want to sing along.
“Regular (English Version)” - NCT 127
“I be walking with the cheese that’s that queso (Queso, Queso).” So many of us know this song word for word. On October 8, 2018, NCT 127 released their track “Regular (English Version).” “Regular” is a track that has been done three times amongst the NCT members. Each version is unique, and all stand out differently. The beat in “Regular” gets you hooked automatically. The English version has many well-known lines like, “My bank account go,” and, “Hopping out casket-fresh, looking like a fashion show (Ayy).” They ate with this one, and best believe, when it starts playing, you can’t help but grab your mic and sing along.
“The Boys (Korean Version)” & “The Boys (English Version)” - Girls’ Generation
“I can tell you’re looking at me I know what you see. Any closer, and you’ll feel the heat. (GG).” The way many of us scream that “GG” shows how much we love this song. “The Boys (Korean Version)” was released on October 18, 2011, and “The Boys (English Version)” was released on October 22, 2011. Both versions are so much fun to sing along to. Girls’ Generation has been in the game for a long time, and it was so hard to pick just one song to put on this list. These girls have an amazing discography that is a blast to sing and dance to. “The Boys,” no matter what version, will make anyone jump out of their seats and take the stage singing every lyric.
“Replay” - SHINee
Now come on who doesn’t know this song? We all know that iconic chorus and how we are all attached to this absolute banger. SHINee is another group that has been active for a long time and has released gold since their debut. The moment many of us hear that opening beat we get super excited and jump up to sing along. SHINee is another group where it was hard to pick just one song, but “Replay” was the obvious choice. It’s a track that we all know and love and sing along to any time we get the chance.
