Throwback Thursday: K-R&B Songs to Add to Your Playlist

Last week, we discussed the K-Hip-Hop songs that must be added to your playlist. Today, we will take it back and talk about some K-R&B tracks that must be listened to. There are plenty of artists in this genre. Many of them you know and love, and some you want to get into. So, let's talk about them and jam along to these K-R&B tracks that need to be in your playlist.

GOLDEN - “Hate Everything”

Clutching my chest, balling, and screaming the lyrics is what is done anytime a GOLDEN song comes on. “Hate Everything” is one of my favorite GOLDEN songs because of how deep it is. This beautiful ballad was released on December 11, 2019, from his hit album Hate Everything - EP. If you aren’t screaming these lyrics, then you aren’t singing this song right. This track is originally in English, with a Korean version also made. GOLDEN is the definition of K-R&B, and if you are a huge R&B fan, his music is perfect for you.

Jonghyun - “Hallelujah”

On January 12, 2015, Jonghyun released his first mini-album, BASE to the world. On that mini-album, we were blessed with his beautiful song “Hallelujah.” Between his vocals and the choir in the background, this track will have you levitating. We all know how beautiful Jonghyun’s vocals are, and he showed that in this song. This is a track that you can play on repeat. It’s so addictive, and you can’t help but sing along. All of his solo music is phenomenal and should be blasting through all speakers. This track needs to be in your K-R&B playlist.

LEE HI - “HOLO”

“And I’m gonna stop cryin’, stop feeling. Stop thinkin’ ‘bout you, my babe.” Graceful and elegant are only some of the words I can use to describe this song. “HOLO” is a dazzling ballad that brought tears to my eyes and many listeners. The lovely piano in the beginning, the choir in the background, and the deep video pull this track together to create a masterpiece. LEE HI’s vocals are something the world needs to talk about. Her voice is delicate and strong. Just from one listen, you will definitely add this to your playlist.

Baekhyun - “All I Got”

When I tell you my jaw was on the floor the first time I listened to this song, I mean it. I don’t know why I was so shocked by Baekhyun’s vocals, but I was. I had to look around the room and make sure everyone was hearing this remarkable piece. Baekhyun’s vocals are nothing to play with: the vocal runs in this song had me screaming. “All I Got” is featured on his hit third mini-album Bambi. If you love soulful R&B music, this track is just for you. This is a loved track that needs to be played everywhere.

Yugyeom - “I Want U Around (feat. DeVita)”

“I need you around me” is the opening line to this iconic track. Your hips will sway, and you will sing along; that is how good this song is. Yugyeom released this song on June 17, 2021. This track is featured on his album Point of View: U and many of us have been playing this on repeat. Not only did he come through with his smooth vocals, but the song also features the amazing singer DeVita. “Why do I want somebody who just can’t stay,” is the line she comes in, and I scream that line every time. This upbeat R&B track needs to be on your playlist. It adds that extra factor that you need and is a fun track to jam to.
