Exploring iDENTIFICATION with E'LAST

E'LAST has been busy touring and traveling over the past year. Their fourth mini-album iDENTIFICATION was highly anticipated and was released on October 17, 2023. In an exclusive interview with The Kraze, the group discussed their recent activities, personal experiences, and their deep connection with their dedicated fan base, ELRINGS.

Q: Thank you for speaking with The Kraze once again! Could you reintroduce yourselves to our readers?

Rano: Hello we are E’LAST who debuted in 2020 on June 9. We are a group that has many charms and shines the most on stage. I hope you support and love us.

Q: Last month, you released your latest EP iDENTIFICATION. How do you feel now that the EP has been released? What were your initial reactions to the response from fans and the general public?

Baekgyeul: This album has a different aura than other albums before and our members participated the most which our ELRINGs really loved.

Q: Can each member share their personal favorite track from the EP and why it holds significance for them?

BG: I wrote what I wanted to tell to our ELRINGs through “Together”– my favorite.

Wonhyuk: I love “Together” since we wrote it ourselves, but the performance style that I like is “NEVERLAND.” The live and dance performance is the coolest.

Romin: Mine is “NEVERLAND,” I have the most fun when performing on the stage.

RN: It would have to be “Together.” The meaning of the song is very special since we made it for ELRINGs, and makes me overwhelmed every time I sing it.

Yejun: It would be the title “Kiss me Baby!!”

Wonjun: I like the title “Kiss me Baby” the most.

Q: Earlier this year you released the Japanese version of "Thrill," which is also included on your EP. We're curious to know what the recording process was like for that song in another language. Could you share some details with us?

WH: It was a lot of fun and the thought that our fans will be listening made it more exciting.

Q: In what ways do you think the group has evolved creatively with this EP compared to your previous releases?

YJ: We were given the opportunity to participate in the album so our opinions and work were included in the album. This album is our sincere story-telling and we’ve participated in lyrics, producing, and choreography.

Q: Were there any surprises or discoveries about yourselves during the comeback preparation?

BG: I could see myself improving in vocal skills and was very proud of myself.

Q: How have you been engaging with fans since the release of the EP? Any memorable fan reactions or messages that stood out to you?

YJ: I get lots of fan support through the platform Weverse. When the fans say they get lots of energy from us, it’s always memorable.

Q: Can you share any interesting or funny behind-the-scenes stories from the filming of music videos or other promotional activities for this EP?

WJ: There was a scene where I was inside a real car and had to pretend to drive, but since I don’t have a driver’s license the staff were shooting winds toward me and used cool camera movements to make it seem real. I don’t think I could ever forget that.

Q: After the comeback promotions, are there any specific activities or projects the group has in mind?

RM: If we have the chance I would love to go on tour again and see our abroad ELRINGs.

Q: If E’LAST were a superhero team, who would have what power, and what would your team name be?

WH: I would be a fast hero like Flash! The team name would be… EL-vengers..?

Q: If your group were to be featured in a soundtrack for a movie, which movie would it be?

YJ: I want to be featured in a film that portrays teenager’s youth and their falls and teenage romance films. I think I can relate more since it would be about people around my age.

Q: What's the most unique or interesting fan gift you've ever received?

RN: I love all the gifts that ELRINGs gave but I do remember a waffle-pen, it was definitely unique.

Q: If you had the magic power to grant one wish for your fans, what would it be?

YJ: The power to teleport whenever ELRINGs want to see me.

Q: If your group could have a concert anywhere in the world, fictional or real, where would it be, and what would the concert theme be?

RN: It doesn’t sound realistic but I would want to perform in a really huge arena with the theme of four seasons and do different types of outfits, and formations and perform together with ELRING.

Q: Is there anything you'd like to say to ELRINGs who have been supporting you throughout this comeback?

RM: You’re all I have, I love you ❤️

As we wrap up this beautiful interview, we at The Kraze want to express our gratitude to E’LAST for taking the time to share their experiences and insights about their latest comeback and answer some fun questions. We look forward to seeing what you have in store next for ELRINGS. Until next time!
