Apink Personifies the Christmas Spirit with Holiday Single “PINK CHRISTMAS”

One of the most fun times of the year in K-Pop is the holiday season, when our favorite groups release festive singles for us to sneak into our family holiday playlists. As twelve-year veterans in the K-Pop industry, Apink has, without a doubt, made their lasting mark on the genre. The last news we heard of the girl group was in April, when IST Entertainment announced that all members but Eunji did not renew their contracts with the agency. Still, it seems the girl group will be maintaining group activities like we’ve seen with other veteran groups such as SHINHWA or INFINITE. This is the first release we get from the girls in this new environment.

You know what you’ll get with Apink: amazing vocals, and more often than not, a cuter concept.
“PINK CHRISTMAS” has all the staples of a sweet holiday single, including jingle bells in the melody and an upbeat, driving tempo that builds into a percussive, horn-heavy chorus. It’s a classic holiday release, meant to bring joyful feelings and celebrate the holiday. You’ll also hear the hook of “Jingle Bells” in the track, which isn’t an uncommon practice for K-Pop holiday songs. Not much else to say in the realm of the music—just that Apink has a lovely set of vocalists.

The video evokes the feeling of a warm christmas, with red and green being the staple colors in a cozy home setting. The girls don cute Santa-inspired velvet holiday dresses and sparkly makeup, looking very sweet and angelic while they gather to celebrate Christmas. The video is simple, showing the girls during their photoshoot for the single.
