B-Sides That Carry Strong Title Track Energy

We all know of B-side tracks that we feel would eat as a title track. Some B-sides carry such strong energy you just can’t help but think, “Hm, this could have been a title track.” So, let’s talk about some of those B-sides we all thought were title track material.

SEVENTEEN - “Crush”

“You are my crush. I got a crush on you” are the beginning lyrics to this upbeat, soulful track. In 2021, SEVENTEEN released their 9th mini-album, Attacca, and on this album was their hit B-Side, “Crush.” It is justifiable as to why Carats love this song so much, me included. Between the catchy chorus and hard-hitting choreography, “Crush” has all of the works of a hit title track.

GOT7 - “Save You”

GOT7 did their big one with this B-side. On their jammed-packed album Present: YOU was their B-side “Save You.” This song makes you feel like you are levitating. Everything about this song is graceful and fun. The main reason I believe this could be a title track is because of the vocals. GOT7 is a phenomenal group filled with fantastic vocalists, but there is something about “Save You” that just makes you happy. A smile forms on my face every time I listen to “Save You.” You can’t help but to get hyped.

KISS OF LIFE - “Nobody Knows”

KISS OF LIFE just dropped their new mini-album, Born to be XX, and on that mini-album is their track “Nobody Knows.” This R&B/Jazz B-side rocked our worlds the moment it dropped. This B-side showcases the members’ vocals on full display. This is a B-side that you will play on repeat. “Nobody Knows” is so good it definitely has the potential to be a title track. It carries such a strong presence, and you are instantly hooked just from one listen. I recommend everyone to listen to it.

Red Velvet - “Kingdom Come”

Honestly, when I first heard this song, I thought it was a title track. I then found out it wasn’t, and I was shocked. In 2017, Red Velvet released their second album, Perfect Velvet - The 2nd Album, and wow – this album is incredible. “Kingdom Come” is the fourth song on the album, and this R&B track instantly became my favorite song. “Kingdom Come” features all the things that Red Velvet have that make their title tracks hits: stunning vocals, captivating beats, and wonderful harmonies. I really do think that “Kingdom Come” would have done marvelous as a title track.
