Throwback Thursday: Christmas Edition
It’s now that time of the year. It’s time for the Christmas trees, hot cocoa, and most of all, Christmas music. During this time, many groups will release Christmas-themed tracks for us to jam to during the holiday season. So, let’s take it back and talk about these joyful holiday Christmas tracks.
GOT7 - “Confession Song”
“I love you, baby I. I love you.” Come on, let’s sing along. On November 22, 2015, GOT7 released their heartwarming Christmas track “Confession Song.” This song makes you smile, and you can’t help but dance along. The video is the most adorable thing I have ever seen. In the video, the members are seen going around a school, helping people confess to their crushes. The Christmas decorations and jingles in the song make this a heartfelt track that many love to listen to during this time.
NCT Dream - “JOY”
On December 15, 2017, SM Entertainment boy group NCT Dream released their upbeat rendition of the Christmas songs we all know, “Joy To The World” and “Jingle Bells.” This cheery holiday track is a good mix of R&B, hip-hop, and pop all wrapped into one. The video is super adorable. The way they all look like they are having so much fun made this track even more enjoyable. “JOY” is a song that can be played while decorating your tree or making cookies. NCT Dream came through and gave us a fun holiday track that will be played during this festive season.
The Boyz - “Christmassy!”
Come on you guys, let’s party! I know we all remember this song. When this dropped, the pictures of each member were everywhere. On December 7, 2020, The Boyz released their bright and lively holiday track “Christmassy!” This track is so much fun. The first person point-of-view aspect and the cute romantic actions make you smile from ear to ear. “Christmassy!” is a track you would play at a holiday get-together with your friends. It’s only too easy to imagine: you and your friends together, decorating gingerbread houses and dancing along to the track. The Boyz did an amazing job with this Christmas track, and it will be played every year.
Stray Kids - “Christmas EveL”
I have never heard a Christmas track like this, and it’s so much fun. Stray Kids, a JYP Entertainment boy group, dropped their hit Christmas song “Christmas EveL” on November 29, 2021. “Jingle jingle jingle all the way. You got me spinning,” is going to be on repeat all December. The video is so entertaining. The concept of them covering for Santa and delivering gifts was so animated and enjoyable. The bright colors, hard-hitting beat, and funny storyline made a great Christmas track that we will all remember.
