My Favorite of BLACKPINK’s Coachella Looks

This past weekend, BLACKPINK made history in the California deserts as they became the first K-Pop group to headline the main stage at Coachella. The four-member girl group shared a sentiment to fans as they openly spoke about how just four years prior in 2019, they were performing on the Sahara stage at the festival.

Not only did the stage turn up a notch, but so did the girls with their various performances this year. One thing about BLACKPINK is that they’re going to be styled to the nines, and their outfits for Coachella did not fail to impress people in the audience and at home. Here are my favorite outfits each member wore on stage!

Jisoo

My favorite outfit on Jisoo this weekend has been her hanbok-inspired outfit. What makes BLACKPINK stand out is the way they hold and portray four different traditions in the group. Jisoo signifies Korean beauty, and she has always been proud to show her heritage when promoting overseas. BLACKPINK’s stylists have made their stylized hanbok the group’s signature when in an ensemble, and the sentiment stands.

A close second to my favorite Jisoo look was her custom David Koma red look, which takes inspiration from the brand’s Fall 2023 designs. Jisoo's solo debut “FLOWER” was released last month and this look serves as a perfect ode to her.

Jennie

This specific Jennie look served to be my personal favorite with how the cut and style looked on her. Jennie was styled in Rui Zhou’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection, with the brand’s signature cut-out arm sleeve and bodysuit to match.

One of my favorite trends this year and last was the rise of cut-outs in tops and pants as well as asymmetrical pieces, and I think this brand’s particular style matched really well with Jennie. Such items were made to be worn for a stage like “Shut Down,” which the group performed. Jennie was also seen in custom Dénicheur, which adorned her torso in elegant pearls, paired with a white tutu making the look amazing.

Rosé

Rosé’s signature looks both within and outside of BLACKPINK activities consist of more rock-inspired aspects. Being a global ambassador for Yves Saint Laurent encouraged these stylistic choices, and her looks for Coachella did not fail to exude this similar vibe and impress.

My favorite Rosé look occurred during her solo performance where she was styled in leather pieces, from her jacket to her boots, and not forgetting the signature Coachella fringes through her jacket sleeves. Rosé’s hair color at Coachella made everyone reminisce on her 2019 looks that also stole the show—being in the Californian desert makes her shine!

Lisa

I think everyone had the same reaction when they saw Lisa step out in her custom Yueqi Qi bodysuit which was paired with the Mugler sheer, metallic bodysuit. The shine reflected from the lights stole the show as she performed her solo “MONEY” stage. The crystal adornments glistened and the designer took to Instagram to rage about her custom project, sharing that Thai stylist NAN NIST had reached out to them for this piece.

The Chinese fashion designer started her brand in 2019 and has become someone who people have been keeping their eyes on, so much so that British Vogue highlighted that they anticipate seeing more “arresting pieces” from the designer across the world.

BLACKPINK have established themselves as fashion icons amongst both the music and fashion scene, so it only makes sense that they showed out during a monumental evening like this one. The girls closed their performance by giving their ending speech in Korean, marking a full circle moment for the group of seven years.
