It’s almost been a year since NewJeans debuted, and their career has been nothing but exciting. From their debut EP to collabs with big companies, let’s get into everything the five member girl group has accomplished.
Debuting under ADOR, a HYBE sub-label, all five members of NewJeans have experienced many different aspects of the idol life, from writing credits in songs like “Hype Boy” to modeling for brands like Gucci and Chanel. On July 21, 2022, the five girls released their world famous debut single “Attention,” which currently sits at 48 million views on YouTube and 227 million streams on Spotify.
Not only did the song bring popularity to their vocal capabilities, but also to their modeling and acting abilities. That's when everyone started to question if NewJeans is the next big thing in K-Pop. In my opinion? Yes.
Not only have the girls been able to keep their name known worldwide even for those that aren't K-Pop fans, but they have also continued to make music that is streamed an insane amount of times. It has only been five months since the release of “OMG,” and not only has that song been a trend in the western industry, but it also sits at 323 million streams on Spotify and a whopping 99 million views on YouTube.
The rookie group has also experienced having song credits in their very first release. Both Danielle and HANNI have song credits in “Attention” and “Hype Boy” and explained the process of songwriting and how the experience brought them learning lessons in their interview with SiriusXM. Having song writing credits so early in their idol career has already brought them so much success that their fans, Bunnies, can't wait to see what the group has to offer next.
The five girls just released a new single in collaboration with Coke Zero and have become ambassadors for McDonalds; they're running busy!
