If I Were to Style Bang Chan…
Bang Chan, leader of the group Stray Kids, expressed on Bubble how he wants to get into fashion more and is indecisive of the route he wants to go down. As a courtesy to the leader, I’ve compiled a small list of options for him to help guide his new venture into the world of fashion!
Explore Different Colors and Silhouettes
One way that someone can switch up their style is by exploring the different colors they wear and the different silhouettes they show. Bang Chan tends to wear all black pieces, and ones that are more fitted. By looking at this, here are small differences he could make to add to his personal wardrobe!
Black Items → Red Items
When Bang Chan had initially asked for fashion tips, he noted a particular outfit that he was styled in for the group’s “CASE 143” comeback (scream).
The small red accents in his outfit are what makes it pop and I think he could incorporate more red pieces in his day-to-day items. The classic black and red combination makes for a sexy and mature vibe that works with him a lot and it’s not too in-your-face.
Skinny Jeans → Wide Leg Pants
Following on from this, the Stray Kids leader is also often seen wearing black skinny jeans, which accentuate his vibe. One way I’d like to see him styled is if he tried out different combinations, such as the big pants, big tee, or the “big pants, small tee” fits.
People often worry that baggy pants could create an emphasis on their height, but I think that the comfortability that comes with them overrides this fear. It’s a small change that can create all the difference in someone's style!
Bang Chan x Burberry?
One of the ways Bang Chan can incorporate his interests into his personal style is by looking at his favorite artists who are ambassadors for fashion brands. Chan often mentions being influenced by the UK’s grime music and has even mentioned Skepta as someone he admires and respects.
Earlier this year, Skepta had been selected as one of the new faces promoting Burberry’s rebranding under new Chief Creative Director Daniel Lee. The rebrand of Burberry pushes towards representing modern-day Britain, essential to what the brand’s initial values align with.

From Daniel Lee’s first collection with the brand, the bright argyle prints upon the turtlenecks would make fun pieces in Chan’s wardrobe, adding both color and print to his collection. However, Chan can always opt for the brand’s traditional neutral pieces with their signature check print.

The 25-year-old also suits the fit of polo shirts a lot as they're already items he has in his closet, making Burberry clothing easy to slot into his collection. Bang Chan is an idol who I feel doesn't need to try too hard to look good. Confidence is key to fashion and he shows this already when being styled for magazine editorials and group comeback images.
Bang Chan x Prada?
On the 200th episode of Chan’s Room, Bang Chan’s monthly livestream on the Stray Kids YouTube account, he was seen wearing a black Prada fitted T-shirt. From this, I think Prada is definitely a brand that Chan could see himself becoming an ambassador for in the future.
The 25-year-old often jokes that his fans may get bored of seeing him in all-black clothes all the time; however, I think Prada’s signature black, sleek looks are ones that he could embrace! Take Spring/Summer 2023 Menswear collection, for example:

The use of color in this collection is one of my favorites from the luxury brand: not too muted, bright but not tacky. From the full denim outfits in this collection, which Bang Chan could easily distress to fit with his liking of ripped skinny jeans, to the striped color-block jumpers that can be easily paired with any bottoms, Prada is definitely a brand that Chan can experiment with in the future.
As someone who works out too, sportswear blended with casual clothes is something often attributed with Bang Chan. The adidas for Prada Re-Nylon collection, which dropped early 2022, is a great blend to mix his interest in both activewear and fashion.
Stray Kids members are no strangers to the fashion scene, with members Hyunjin and Felix being invited to various different events this year. One thing that’s always important to remember when experimenting with fashion is to have confidence. Keeping an open mind to trying something new is always key, and I hope that Bang Chan finds fun in going through everyone’s suggestions and outfit recommendations!
