MISO Celebrates Birthday with New Single Release

While it’s customary to receive gifts on one’s birthday, MISO decided to flip that form of celebration on its head and instead gave us the new single album release Emotions, which dropped on her birthday. Featuring two tracks, “Fallin” featuring Rad Museum and “Emotions” featuring Lil Cherry, Emotions is a short but sweet and super addicting release from the soloist. Both tracks were written and produced by MISO, with the featured artists helping to pen the lyrics, as well.

The opening song on the single, “Fallin” is a jazzy, upbeat R&B track, with the lyrics talking about how much time one spends thinking of their crush as they fall in love. The perfect fit for MISO’s sweet voice, “Fallin” is sung almost entirely in English (minus the second half of Rad Museum’s verse). The two you.will.knovv artists worked together on the song “Cloud” for Rad Museum’s 2017 album Scene and again for “4D” on his 2022 album RAD, but this is the first time he has appeared on a MISO track, and their voices work so well together—I definitely need more of these two on songs together.

“Emotions” is a far trippier sound than “Fallin,” leaning into a repetitive loop of drum beats with a chill keyboard laid softly over the instrumentation. It’s a very cool sound, and it pairs perfectly with the repetition of the word “emotions” in the chorus. While “Fallin” was a relatable track, “Emotions” is relatable times 100. At its core, “Emotions” is about the way we can all get trapped in our own thoughts and emotions, but it’s also so much more than that. MISO’s second verse is about the people who say they’ll be there for us only to leave when we need them rather than them needing us, and the confusing emotions that it brings up. Lil Cherry’s verse only furthers that point, with her final lines hinting that we no longer need those people in our lives. It’s a very interesting track, lyrically and instrumentally, and you’ll have the chorus looping in your head seconds after hearing it.

Thank you again for this incredible birthday single, MISO!
