After his appearance on the recently concluded Peak Time, Moon Jongup has been a name at the forefront of K-Pop once again. We’ve long expressed affection for Jongup and his group B.A.P, so it’s a treat to see him finding more notoriety on the scene after so many years. After a viral performance on the show, he went on to sign with a new agency and begin promoting as a solo artist once again, with one of his first events being his appearance at the 2023 K-Fun Day at The Shops at Skyview in New York.

Before his meet & greet, Jongup sat down for a press conference with us and our fellow media colleagues to discuss his appearance at the event and answer our questions about his future plans.

*Q: Ten years ago, you were performing with B.A.P at Times Square. After ten years, you’re returning to perform in New York. How do you feel about that?

Jongup: It’s really new to be here today and perform as a solo artist, but I’m glad to be back. And it’s a really new feeling to be here by myself, but I’m excited and happy to be here.

*Q: For the K-Fun event, I heard you prepared a special stage. Tell us about what you’ve prepared for today’s event.

J: First I'm going to be performing something I performed on Peak Time, it’s called “This, That, Shh” and it’s produced by Jay Park. I also have prepared a solo song.

*Q: The special part is that [you] always perform with members, so this is the first time [you’ll] be performing a solo version.

J: I was worried about performing solo, but thankfully the AKF Dance [Studio] helped me to create a good stage, so I’m excited for today’s performance.

Q: What was your experience on Peak Time like?

J: It was a challenge for me to join the show because, as you know, I’m used to being in a group with B.A.P, but it was a challenge that was worth it because through that I’m able to come to New York and meet you guys again.

Q: It’s been quite some time since your last release, “US.” Are there any plans on a comeback any time soon?

J: I’m working on an album right now. I think it’s gonna come out as it comes out, but I’m working really hard on that right now.

Big thank you to the team at Skyview for inviting us to the conference, as well as to Jongup and his team for being so gracious to the media. Stay tuned for more coverage of the event, and keep an eye on our socials for additional photos and media of the great day!
