Throwback Thursday: The Color is Red

Quick question: what is your favorite color? Mine are blue, brown, and black. Today, we are looking back at some of our old favorites, but in a different kind of category. We will discuss the album release of our favorite artists with a specific color in mind. This month is red. So, let’s take it and talk about these releases showcasing the color red.

ATEEZ - TREASURE EP.2: Zero To One

On January 15, 2019, KQ Entertainment boy group ATEEZ released their hit album TREASURE EP.2: Zero To One, and this album shocked the world the moment it dropped. The bright red color of the album makes it stand out. This album features their well-known title track, “Say My Name,” and four top-tier B-sides we all know and love. The B-sides, “Desire,” “Light,” “HALA HALA (Hearts Awakened, Live Alive),” and “Promise” are all household songs that many ATINY and non-ATINYs treasure.. Each song holds its own personality and showcases the members’ singing, rapping, and dancing skills. Being one of my favorite albums, I understand how groundbreaking it is and how it will forever be in everyone's mind.

Red Velvet - The Perfect Red Velvet - The 2nd Album Repacked - EP

Red Velvet is a girl group under SM Entertainment, and on January 29, 2018, they released their second album repackage, The Perfect Red Velvet - The 2nd Album Repackage - EP. The album is red and black, featuring silhouettes of the members against an eye-catching all-red background. On this repackage, we got introduced to a title track we all love in both English and Korean. “Bad Boy” is the featured track on this repackage and is a track many of us think of when we hear Red Velvet. On this album, there are five songs in total: the B-sides, “All Right,” “Time To Love,” “Bad Boy (Instrumental),” and “Peek-A-Boo (Instrumental).” These girls are so talented, and in the EP, that is proven.

MONSTA X - Take.2 We Are Here

On February 18, 2019, Starship Entertainment boy group MONSTA X released their full-length album, Take.2 We Are Here, and wow, this album genuinely shocked me and many other MONBEBEs. The all-red concept album houses their iconic title track, “Alligator.” The release of this song shocked the whole fandom and is a track many of us still stream to this day. The album also houses nine B-sides that are all really good: “INTRO: WE ARE HERE,” “GHOST,” “Play It Cool (feat. Steve Aoki),” “No Reason,” “Give Me Dat,” “Turbulence,” “Rodeo,” “Stealer,” and “Party Time.” This group is full of talented men, and on this album, we got to hear the different sides of MONSTA X. It’s such a great album.

The Boyz- THE BOYZ 1st Album [REVEAL]

Former Cre.Ker Entertainment, now IST Entertainment boy group The Boyz, released their first album, THE BOYZ 1st Album [REVEAL],on February 10, 2020. The minimalist red look of the album will attract any viewer. This jam-packed album is home to a title track we will never forget: “REVEAL” is one of The Boyz's breakthrough title tracks. Seeing this song live was a moment I will never forget. This track is well-known, and many talk about this song almost four years after its release. THE BOYZ 1st Album [REVEAL] has eight B-sides that make you sing along with them, including “Ego,” “Shake You Down,” “Scar,” “Salty,” “Break Your Rules,” “Wings,” “Goodbye,” and “Spring Snow.” The group has such a unique sound, and it’s heard throughout the album. It was such a monumental moment seeing them get their first full-length album, and they went all in. THE BOYZ 1st Album [REVEAL] is a great album that we will never stop talking about.
