tripleS Releases Their First Instrumental Album 4study4work4inst Vol. 1

On February 2, over 90 minutes of instrumentals from tripleS’s discography became available to stream online. 4study4work4inst Vol. 1, indicated as the first in a series, contains instrumental songs from the group and most of its subunits: Acid Angel from Asia, +(KR)ystal Eyes, LOVElution, EVOLution, NXT, and Aria. With 31 tracks, 4study4work4inst Vol. 1 makes it easy to immerse listeners into the music of tripleS.

While some K-Pop artists will include song instrumentals within their releases, this rarely applies to a large part of their discography. The last comparable full instrumental album happened in 2018, with Lovelyz’s 33-track compilation Muse on Music. INFINITE started this idea with their 30-track instrumental compilation album The Origin in 2014. MOUHAUS CEO Jaden Jeong previously worked with Lovelyz and INFINITE at Woolim Entertainment, so seeing his own group carry on the instrumental album legacy becomes a full circle moment.

Track Breakdown

4study4work4inst Vol. 1 includes almost all tracks across tripleS’s discography. The group has released five EPs, two single albums, and two digital singles since 2022. This compilation album excludes intro and outro tracks and the single album Acid Eyes <Cherry Gene>. Acid Eyes’s single album contained mashups of Acid Angel from Asia’s “Generation” and +(KR)ystal Eyes’s “Cherry Talk.”

The album begins with tripleS’s first EP from Acid Angel of Asia and ends with their most recent single album from the Aria subunit. Considering tripleS only started releasing music in late 2022, seeing 31 tracks on this instrumental album is quite the feat.

tripleS has only currently revealed 20 members of its desired 24-member lineup, meaning that more subunits await in the future. At the Seoul leg of their 1st World Tour <Authentic> on February 4, tripleS revealed ASSEMBLE24, a unit featuring all 20 members coming later this month. 4study4work4inst. showcases tripleS’s discography in a neat collection during the lead up to their next step.
