B-Sides: SEVENTEEN Edition

On May 26, 2015, Pledis Entertainment boy group SEVENTEEN made their debut. This debut took the world by storm, and they have grown tremendously ever since. With 14 EPs, nine full-length and mini-albums, and a ton of singles, there are plenty of B-sides we can include in this list. Their EPs and albums have included iconic B-sides that many of us love, and today, we’re going to talk about those.

“DON QUIXOTE” - SEVENTEEN 4th Album ‘Face the Sun’

On May 27, 2022, SEVENTEEN released their album, SEVENTEEN 4th Album ‘Face the Sun.’ The release of this album changed us all for the better. Their hit track “HOT” is the title track for this album, and the song gave us a hint into what this album was going to be. “DON QUIXOTE” is the third track on this album, and wow, everything about this song is amazing. The track is striking and hard-hitting. The song is addictive and became a fan-favorite amongst Carats. I have to add the dance practice for this song. The synchronization that SEVENTEEN is known for is on full display.

“2 MINUS 1 (Bonus Track)” - SEVENTEEN 9th Mini Album ‘Attacca’

SEVENTEEN 9th Mini Album ‘Attacca’ was released on October 22, 2021, and this album is back-to-back bangers. The title track, “Rock with you,” is a hit and a track that many of us love to sing along to. On the album, there is a bonus track that rocked our worlds. “2 MINUS 1 (Bonus Track)” is an English B-side sung by members Vernon and Joshua. This rock-inspired track talks about the breakup of them and their significant others: “2 MINUS 1 I can see you’re doing really good without me, baby. 2 MINUS 1 I’m doing great myself. Hope you know I am.” While being about a breakup, this track is upbeat and fun to dance to.

“Good to Me” - SEVENTEEN 6th Mini Album ‘YOU MADE MY DAWN’ - EP

This track is a favorite of so many people. “Good to Me” is the first B-side on the SEVENTEEN 6th Mini Album ‘YOU MADE MY DAWN’ - EP. The EP was released on January 21, 2019, and we got introduced to their ballad “Home.” ‘Good to Me” has such strong title track energy. For this being the opening of their EP, it hypes you up for the rest. The stage for this track is striking, and the moves are impactful. The vocals and rap are addictive, and this is a track you will learn all the lyrics to: “‘Cause you, you already know everything is you, you. Good to me, good to me, ay-ya-ya. Good to me, ay-ya-ya.”

“Snap Shoot” - An Ode

Have you ever heard a song that instantly brings a smile to your face? That’s exactly what “Snap Shoot” is. On September 16, 2019, SEVENTEEN dropped their jam-packed R&B and electro album, An Ode. Seeing this live is an experience that I believe everyone should have. “Snap Shoot” has everyone on their feet, smiling, dancing, and singing along to the song. I know we have all sat down and practiced Dino and Seungkwan’s part. Everything about this song is fun and exciting, even the video. Watching the members walk around while seeing member Mingyu film will make any Carat smile. It’s overall a joyful song.
