Throwback Thursday: Iconic Dance Practice Videos

Is anyone else obsessed with watching dance practice videos? Since the release of the first dance practice video from the iconic group SHINee, many groups and soloists have released videos of them in the studio practicing the choreography of their recent release. The videos are always so much fun to watch, and there are some we can’t forget watching. So, let's take it back and talk about these iconic dance practice videos.

ITZY - “DALLA DALLA”

ITZY dropped their hit debut song, “DALLA DALLA” five years ago. This song introduced us to ITZY and showed how striking and fierce they are. “DALLA DALLA” is an upbeat, sing-and-dance-along track that will get any listener on their feet. We got a look into the choreography from the dance practice video. The video is in a dance studio, and the members are wearing black and white clothing. The dance is hard-hitting, and the moves are precise. The ITZY members are all fantastic dancers, and in the video, we see each member's personality from the dance moves. The dance is in sync with each arm movement, hand position, and even hair twirl being together. It’s a dance you will never forget and want to learn, and from this dance practice, we get to see the iconic ITZY crown ending we know and love.

SEVENTEEN - “Fear”

We all know SEVENTEEN as the dance machines they are. These 13 powerful men are the kings of synchronization. Ever since their debut, SEVENTEEN has given us choreography that amazes us every time. On September 24, 2019, SEVENTEEN dropped the dance practice to their song “Fear.” The video's dim lighting and black and gray clothing created the eerie feeling that is in the music video. “Fear” is a hard-hitting track with terrific vocals and memorable dance moves. There are parts of the choreography that are so remarkable that you can’t forget about them. During the second chorus, when member Vernon is in the center, the hip movement is a point in the dance that will never leave our minds. The dance is complex and detail-orientated, with moments that show the emotion behind the song. Not talking about this track would have been an injustice. The “Fear” dance practice is a mesmerizing video that will always be a joy to watch.

GOT7 - “Look (Boyfriend Version)”

Watching GOT7’s dance practice videos will always make you smile. On March 29, 2018, GOT7 dropped the dance practice with a boyfriend concept of their song “Look.” This dance practice not only showcases GOT7’s outstanding dancing skills, it also, shows their personalities on full display. The screams throughout the video will make you laugh. While laughing, you also want to dance along to this upbeat love song. The bright smiles and silly gestures mixed with the articulate dance moves make for a video you will never forget. Some parts are super memorable. The chorus has many dance moves like dabs, the shoot, and many other moves that were popular during that time. At the end of the song, there is a part when they dance while traveling in a circle that is stunning to watch and is a memorable point in the choreography. It’s a fun dance practice that many love to watch.

IZ*ONE - “FIESTA”

I wish there was a definite word to describe how powerful, dazzling, and spectacular IZ*ONE choreographies were. On February 28, 2020, we got a dance practice we will always have on our minds. “FIESTA” is a high-energy dance track that makes you want to jump around your room. While watching the video, you can’t help but watch the subtle moments of the choreography. Every arm movement, hand placement, and kick is striking and in sync. The dance is intricate and showcases each member's dancing skills. There are parts in the choreography where the members slide to the ground in sync, and as a viewer, you are instantly wowed. While the moves are done with power, the dance is graceful and beautiful. The technique is out of this world, and while the dance looks hard, you definitely want to try and learn it.
