Hearing a New Sound with Disc One

SEVENTEEN has done it again and released a track we will never forget. “MAESTRO” is a techno-heavy track that will make you jump up and dance. Everything about this track is upbeat and creative. The techno sound is something new that we haven’t heard from SEVENTEEN, and it’s cool to see them change it up. Everything about “MAESTRO” is hard-hitting. For example, each rap attacks that beat, and still flows skillfully. The incorporation of the piano creates the essence that “MAESTRO” has. It’s creative, classy, and shows the skilled work of SEVENTEEN. The choreography is AMAZING! The footwork during the dance breaks just shows, once again, what fantastic dancers SEVENTEEN are. Everything is in sync and shows the correlation between the title and the dance. For example, the arm movements mimic the movement of a conductor conducting an orchestra. It’s creative and an excellent touch.

The music video has a dark concept that shows the connection between the members and robots. The idea of following the maestro lead is shown in the video. The members conducting the robots and having them follow their lead. It’s a cool concept that shows the artistry of SEVENTEEN.

“LALALI” is the first B-side from the album and is a Hip-Hop unit track. The members S.Coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu, and Vernon gave us a song that will be added to the list of Hip-Hop unit songs you can bust a move to. “LALALI! LALALI!” will get stuck in your head and make you want to break dance. It is definitely a favorite of mine. The next track is “Spell,” and the Performance unit came through. “Spell” is a sensual track that is super groovy. Something that stood out for me, is that this performance unit track showcases the members' vocals. Hoshi, The8, Jun, and Dino gave us a track that many will love, and yes this track is another favorite of mine. The next B-side is “Cheers to youth.” Have you ever heard a song that makes you smile? That’s what happened to me when this song came on. “Cheers to youth” is a vocal unit track that talks about having hope and being happy in a crazy world. Jeonghan, Joshua, Woozi, DK, and Seungkwan created a song that shows the bright side of terrible situations and is another favorite of mine.

The next eight songs are all known Japanese tracks and we are now getting a version in Korean. It’s great to go back and listen to some of our favorite Japanese tracks but now in a different language. Each track is well-known, and are tracks we all sing 24/7. The language change is like hearing the song for the first time. It’s an experience that I’m glad we get to have again.

Let’s Take it Back with Disc Two

Disc two features all of the ICONIC title tracks that we know and love. Listening to disc two will only bring a happy feeling to the listener. Hearing all of these tracks again is euphoric. There are plenty of songs on this album that were a first for many who are Carats now. For example, “Don’t Wanna Cry” was the song that got me into SEVENTEEN. The graceful singing, rapping, and dancing caught my eye and had me hooked. I wanted to learn more about SEVENTEEN, and now, seven years later, I’ve been a Carat ever since. Each song is personal to every Carat and member, and being able to listen to all of our favorite tracks on one album is a joy.

SEVENTEEN BEST ALBUM ‘17 IS RIGHT HERE’ will go down in history as an album we will never forget. All 33 songs are amazing and show the growth and accomplishments that SEVENTEEN has. So, check out SEVENTEEN BEST ALBUM ‘17 IS RIGHT HERE’ and enjoy.
