DXMON Makes Their First Comeback with Hyperspace 911

It’s only been four short months since DXMON made their official debut, where they gained notoriety, particularly for the style choice that prominently featured maknae Jo rocking a full head of bright red liberty spikes. While the pre-debut title track “BURN UP” was a more hard-hitting hip-hop track, the official debut title “SPARK” overall was a more subdued pop track. With their new comeback title “Girls, Love boys, Love girls,” we get a softer, more youthful look to DXMON.

While the group crashed onto the scene with a fierce concept, “Girls, Love boys, Love girls” is a lighthearted, EDM-inspired track that showcases the softer side of youth. The driving house beat is blended with a higher register vocal line and much lighter, shorter rap verses than previous releases. The composition of the melody is fairly generic in that the beat drives into the chorus and builds up for a drop into the final chorus line. While it’s a fairly basic composition, it does have an earworm quality fitting for the impending summer season.

The concept itself does seem more fitting for DXMON, considering their youth. We see the boys clad in school uniforms showcasing a carefree demeanor throughout the video, much as kids should during their school days. It’s lighthearted and very fitting for the song, showing us a different side of the group. It’s sweet and playful, which is a nice change of pace from previous releases.
