[Press Release] GroovyRoom's HWIMIN’s Creative Exploration with AMBUSH
GroovyRoom’s HWIMIN shares the inside story of his past, present, and future as a producer in the music industry along with his collaboration with AMBUSH. He was chosen as the international fashion brand AMBUSH’s brand identity muse following Nigerian singer/rapper Burna Boy while simultaneously achieving the title as the first Asian artist to be featured in the brand’s globally popular documentary series. A 15-minute long documentary delving into the backstory of the production duo’s member, the film embodies the producer’s motivation, attitude, and vision in relation to his stylistic music and fashion while expressing HWIMIN’s emotions and thoughts with candor.
Sneak Peek Into HWIMIN’s Past
Up until getting the production duo’s name out into the public and even after that, HWIMIN reveals the story behind his musical pursuit through AMBUSH. First finding himself lost in a maze of fear after what he predicted as his failure to transition to a reputable university, the producer realized his immense appreciation for music during his search for his true liking that he could take on to live boldly. Pure determination was all that was needed to ignite the flame of passion in the young producer to pursue a career in music following his admirable role models Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, and Teddy from YG. But would 19-year-old HWIMIN ever have imagined the extraordinary power that music would present in his life?

Despite feeling a bit awkward about talking about himself, HWIMIN exhibited his admiration for his role models as a continuous motivator that drives him to never rest on his laurels. The producer mentions how Diamond Bust Down G-Shock, inspired by Pharrell’s style from the 2000s, is his current favorite item and the fact that the musician’s influence is driving him to reach milestones as a producer himself; knowing that the renowned artist worked with AMBUSH’s very own creative director Yoon, HWIMIN is amazed and honored at how he is following footsteps with his collaboration with the global jewel brand AMBUSH. AMBUSH presents a collection of unique jewelry reflecting a stylistic aesthetic in which standard streetwear pieces upgrade one’s dress game to a different level. Yoon titled this project “The Universe,” because he [Creative Director Yoon] draws energy from the universe in all his creative pursuits including music and fashion. HWIMIN is of a similar mindset saying that “I always gain energy from there [the universe] and aim to find any possibility within me.”
Creative Director Yoon had this to say about the collaboration:
“The Universe is defined as all of space and time and their contents. Those contents comprise all of the energy in its various forms. AMBUSH UNIVERSE shows the vast planets, stars, galaxies, all the matter and energy that makes up who we are as a brand. Beyond the observable AMBUSH UNIVERSE, you won't just find more planets and stars and forms, you will eventually find every possible thing in us and what we can become.”
Earlier this week, HWIMIN released “Take It,” a brand new single featuring South Korean rappers MUSHVENOM and JUSTHIS as well as a remix package for his hit tracks (“VVS” and “Achoo”) from the popular, televised rap competition Show Me The Money 9.
