DAY6 Kicks off Youth Tour in Toronto

DAY6 has finally begun their world tour for newest album Shoot Me: Youth Part 1, and The Kraze had the opportunity to enjoy the show at their first stop in Toronto! The show was at the beautiful Toronto venue Roy Thomson Hall, with amazing sound quality for fans to enjoy their live music.

They sang 26 songs, which seemed to go by in the blink of an eye. The show was filled with teasing, laughter, and even emotional moments where fans loved them more and more as the show continued. Their live vocals were amazing to the point where it sounded like “they ate their CD.” The group came onto the stage and started with their first song “I Smile,” instantly hooking fans into the concert as they began to sing along with the group. The set continued with “First Time,” “Higher,” and “Whatever!” When “Say Wow” came on, fans began to scream and get louder as they joined the group in singing the chorus. “Pouring” was the next song and they began to start dancing on stage where Jae and Young K went to Dowoon as he was playing the drums and began hyping him up and playing their guitars beside him. “Somehow” was the next song and fans were very excited and continued singing along with them.

DAY6 took a break and introduced themselves to the fans. Young K began to tease Dowoon (as usual) and fans loved it! They continued with the show with some slow songs beginning with “I Need Somebody,” followed by “I Wait.” To get the energy back up, they sang “How Can I Say” before having another cute talk with fans. They went back to their first two albums with “Like That Sun” and “Hunt,” which fans loved. They began to get fans excited when they played “DANCE DANCE” and “What Can I Do.” During those two songs, Jae and Sungjin began dancing on stage by doing body rolls, much to the delight of fans, causing them to lose their minds. They brought their newest album back to the set with “WARNING.”

They took the time to really interact with fans during this time. Young K asked each floor of the venue to have a screaming match, hyping up the group. Wonpil loved our energy and loud cheering, so he asked us to sing with him as he played the piano. Brian then took over and began narrating a cute, funny story of how his name came to be, which fans totally adored. They then continued the show with their newest album, “Feeling Good” and “Talking To.” When they sang their title song “Shoot Me,” fans joined the group in singing the song and they loved our energy and how we sang along with them. Sadly, it was time for the concert to wrap up, but fans continued to want more.

Next, they sang their debut song, “Congratulations,” allowing fans to sing the first verse of the song before they continued to finish the track. The mood shifted to melancholy a bit with the two softer songs, “I Loved You” and “I Like You.” They left the stage, but then a short video began to play on the screen. The video featured the group going around Seoul and trying to film a short, candid movie for their fans. Finally, they came back on stage for the encore, which they began with “Letting Go.” Before continuing the encore set, each member took the time to say a sad, but motivational, goodbye where they told the fans about their tour and took a group photo. They concluded the show with “Wish” and “Freely.” During the encore performance, the members went into the seated area to greet and high-five fans. The final song was “Sing Me,” where the group eventually left the stage waving goodbye to the fans.

The show went by so fast and fans definitely had a great time! Since Young K is from Toronto, fans seemed to give extra love to him with the constant cheering of his name. Toronto definitely began the tour with a huge bang, and DAY6 will be expecting much more fun with the other stops that are to come!
